Responsive to what I was looking for in a vehicle I'd done my research and had narrowed it down to a used Nissan Rogue or a used Honda CRV (note: I'm a previous CRV owner...and was VERY happy with tha I'd done my research and had narrowed it down to a used Nissan Rogue or a used Honda CRV (note: I'm a previous CRV owner...and was VERY happy with that vehicle). I'd been in contact with Jim Tang via internet/email. Was surprised he wasn't my face-to-face contact when I'd arrived (this was my expectation following internet/email contacts with a Honda dealer and another Nissan dealer). The quickly paired me up with Phil Trovato....very nice man, knowledgeable about Nissan Rogues AND what they had on their lot. The vehicle I'd driven out their to see/test drive didn't have cruise control. I asked Phil if he'd check their inventory when we got back to see if they had something that fit what I was looking for in year/miles/features. I purchased a 2015 Rogue with 25,000 miles and the features I was looking for. My only criticism is in regards to the pressure to "seal the deal" before looking at the financing/interest options. Knowing my credit score, I had to figure out what I thought was my worst case scenario for figuring out the monthly payment might be. I'd rather have financed the car thru my credit union rather than Nissan...but was told that my credit union had stepped back from their local financial network (which is not what my CU told me when I checked with them a few days later). I also worked with JR on the financing. Have to say, I've never been a big fan of service warranty plans on anything...but he convinced me that $21/month was a good repair related "insurance" investment. Heck, when you think that it's pretty easy to blow $20 on a move/popcorn&soda, $21 for extending the coverage/service on the vehicle seemed a reasonable investment especially with the courtesy "loaner" thrown in. I've had the car for just about a week and am happy with it so far. The true test will be the MN winter/snow experience. More
