I searched dealer inventory from Redding, CA all the way to Valencia, CA and east as far as Reno, NV. I live in the SF Bay Area, just for reference. Finally, I stumbled on a deal from another dealer. Talked to every dealer to see if they can beat it and ding-ding, Elk Grove Subaru comes and saves the day. I interfaced with Mike Carlson over the internet. We exchanged expectations and sure enough, I was on my way to Elk Grove Subaru. I was greeted by Bruce Cunningham, swell gentleman. We talked over what the deal was between Mike and I, test drove the car, signed some paperwork with Mike Lagandaon and I was off! He said that he was very busy, but if he could not help us, he would get us to a sales associate that could handle our needs. When we arrived, we waited about 3 minutes for Zach to find us and make introductions. He referred us to Michael and the process was a pleasure. There was straight talk, laughter and a friendship formed in our visit. Zach and Michael both helped us in finalizing the deal. We made the deal, shook hands and went on our way, satisfied. After explaining what we were looking for, David explained that the Forestor is probably not what we were looking for and recommended the Outback. I then gave David a printout from the Subaru web page showing exactly what we were looking for and the options that we wanted. He showed us the exact Outback that we wanted. He was extremely good at explaining all of the features of the Outback and it was very clear that he knows the vehicle well and is passionate about he job. He explained all of the paperwork well and made sure that we understood everything we were signing. Mike Lagandaon was also a true professional. He took the time to explain everything to us including the extended warranty programs available. As we signed the documents he made sure to explain everything to us.
