We find O-H-I-O everywhere we go! We walked into the dealership to look at what would be our first Subaru (ever) and our first officially brand new car. I had been in contact with Mike Kim via e-mail prior to coming in for our test drive and I knew we would have a great experience based on his willingness to answer questions. Mike made us feel like we were dealing with family, he answered all of our questions, provided us with great things to think about, and even gave us some dad-like advice! He was extremely knowledgeable about the brand and the Crosstrek. The one or two questions he was not 100% sure on he made sure to find out for us before we left. We also had a great connection with Brandon Vaughn in Finance. Being a fellow Buckeye fan, our trip to Elk Grove Subaru and the purchase of our new Crosstrek would not have been complete without a O-H-I-O photo infront of it with our Sales guy and our Finance guy (thanks for the suggestion Brandon!) We had decided on a Subaru Outback and we had a specific budget, but no one was able to give us what we wanted. We drove an hour away to Elk Grove, where we were greeted by Curtis. The inventory at Elk Grove was amazing! We ended up driving away in a NEW Subaru Outback for a price we were happy with. THANK YOU, Curtis, Dave and Mike! It was a pleasant experience having a knowledgeable salesman to provide you with all of the answers to your questions and all of the features and performance of the vehicle I purchased. He made you feel like he was not just out to sell a car. Very sincere and honest. My husband and I had no apprehension whatsoever in discussing my financial situation with him and he was very prepared with everything needed to make my final step a smooth one. Dave Melo, Salesman without the Sleaze Factor First, I wanted the cheapest brand new Subaru Crosstrek I could get my hands on. I just kept calling dealers who could get the price down on a cash p First, I wanted the cheapest brand new Subaru Crosstrek I could get my hands on. I just kept calling dealers who could get the price down on a cash purchase with my savings. I went to Albany, Diablo, Marin, Napa and Serramonte in the Bay Area. At Serramonte I got a quote for under 20K for a stick, dark gray model and went over to test drive it. I was hoping to find a different color of the same model because the dark gray seemed a bit 'gangsta' for me. On checking the computer, I was told that there were blue manual transmission models similar at Gold Rush in Auburn and Elk Grove. Gold Rush could not match the Serramonte price nor could any of the other dealers. I then called Elk Grove Subaru and spoke with Dave Melo. I told him about the price quote at Serramonte and asked if he could match it. After some inquiries he made with the office staff, he matched the price at Serramonte! After getting the verbal handshake and assurance, I jumped on Amtrak and headed for Elk Grove. I met with Dave who had the car ready for a test drive. I fell in love immediately. Just as our agreement stated, I got the Crosstrek XV for the exact price we had agreed upon. Dave was extremely helpful getting all the paperwork filled out and even took time to pair my iPhone to the built-in bluetooth. What I enjoyed most was his honest and personable manner without any of the hype and fake friendliness with which auto salesmen are often, and sometimes unfairly, characterized. After cutting a check to the finance officer, I hopped into my new Subaru and drove it back to the Bay Area. Quick and Easy. I showed up to look at used cars and left with a new car. Of all of them, only Mike Carlson at Elk Grove Subaru was super fast and responsive. He understood what I expected and went straight to pricing that I was happy with, no BS, no pressure to move to a higher package model. After getting no equivalent service or offer from the others, I called him and with nothing more than an "I'm on my way" he had the car I wanted pulled up and ready. I walked in and he led me through the process with zero hassle, and no effort on my part. I was made comfortable and had some great conversation while he quickly got my deal put together. I also worked with Jeremy Remillard in finance who provided yet again more excellent service. He was personable and advised me of all my options without pressure. I had a great conversation with him while he quickly stepped through the paperwork. I was out of there with a couple of handshakes and a great experience. After a few test drives and looking at all the available external and internal options, I finally made a decision. They were able to locate the exact car I wanted within a short amount of time.
