We were looking for a SUV to replace our elderly Toyota. After looking at Nissan, Toyota and Honda we found that the Subaru best fit our needs. We found several 2013 models that met our requirements and one dealer (Elk Grove Subaru) not only had what we wanted, but also advertized a discounted price on all their remaining 2013 Outbacks. I called, reached David Melo, and scheduled an appointment for later that day. We drove to the dealership, saw the vehicle, met David and went for a test drive. We liked the vehicle and David was very thorough and knowledgeable with any questions we had. I have been looking for a car to replace my 1999 4runner. It was my fourth Toyota and I was happy with the Toyota brand. When I started looking I wanted to stick with Toyota but started comparing prices and It was my fourth Toyota and I was happy with the Toyota brand. My sister has had 3 Subarus and currently has a 2006 Outback that she loves. My parents decided on a Forrester in 2010 and they love it as well. When I talked to my dad he said "go to Elk Grove Subaru, the guys there are great!" My dad is a pretty smart guy and knows a lot about cars so I took his advice. We walked on the lot looking for a used 2010-2012 Outback. Gavin McPoil greeted us and showed us what was available. He also showed us the new Outbacks while explaining that with the discount (ending today, right?) he could get us into a new model for the same price as the years I was looking for because Subarus retain their value so well. I'm thinking, here we go, next he's going to suggest we go inside and sit down with the office manager. Here's the thing he didn't do that. He actually got out his phone calculator and ran the numbers in the lot and gave us the info for every car we asked about. We ran him around comparing different model Outbacks, compared them to Forresters and Crosstreks. He never showed a sign of annoyance and dealt with all of my peculiarities and tastes and helped us make the decision without any high pressure sales tactics. Once we picked the car and went inside, I was thinking, ok he gave us the price in the lot, lets see what it really is in here. While we waited for Gavin to get the credit approval we spoke with several other sales people who were very friendly and made the time pass quickly. When Gavin came back with the approval and the sales numbers on paper I was waiting for the other shoe to drop and to my pleasant surprise they matched the numbers he gave us in the lot! I forgot to mention we got there at around 7:00 on a Friday evening and by now it was about 9:00 and every one of the staff were as nice as if they just got up and had a cup of coffee on the third day of a 2 week vacation in Hawaii. We did have to wait in line to see the finance manager, Brandon Vaughn, but Gavin made good use of the time going over the features of the car , answering all of our questions, and even pairing my phone to the stereo so I can answer calls and stream audio through the sound system. Its like 10:30 now and he has already made the sale but still just as nice and patient as before the sale. We finally got in to see Brandon (Finance Manager) who worked smoothly and quickly to get us through the process. Even though it was late (around 11:00pm) he gave us all the important facts about the extended warranty, explained it clearly so even I could understand it, answered all of our questions while never once making us feel like he wanted to get out of there. Gavin, who really could have gone home after he got us in to Brandon's office, stayed and walked us out to the car just as nice as he was when we walked on the lot. I'm 53 years old and have had many car buying experiences, some were better than others but none have been as nice as this one. They made my wife and I feel like part of the family and took all the time we needed even though it was late and they all new they would have another long day on Saturday. I have been driving the car for a week now and love the ease of driving, the smoothness of the ride, and the transmission is so smooth! I got the 4 cylinder for fuel economy but it really has a lot of power. I am falling in love wit this car. I would recommend going to Elk Grove Subaru to anyone looking for new or used car. They are nice, friendly, knowledgable, and honest. I will be going back for my next vehicle though that won't be for a long time. I am going to hang on to this for as long as I can. More

We did quite a bit of research before going to Elk Grove Subaru for the purpose of test driving different models to see which one we liked best. We spent a lot of time driving three different cars - the Ou Subaru for the purpose of test driving different models to see which one we liked best. We spent a lot of time driving three different cars - the Outback, Forester, and Crosstrek - during which time Curtis Jare was incredibly helpful and patient, explaining the features and differences. We must have gone on 5 or 6 test drives. We weren't necessarily planning on buying, but we were aware that there were some very good promotions going on because of the holiday, and were open to the right car at the right price. We found what we wanted, and Mike Carlson did a very good job working with us and getting us the car we wanted at the price we could live with. Mike Lagandaon handled the documents and signing and was very thorough making sure we got the deal we had agreed to. Although buying a new car is always a somewhat stressful activity because of the negotiation, cost and commitment involved, the staff here all made it a pretty smooth and easy experience. I will definitely return when it comes time to buy my next car. More
