This was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had servicing my vehicle. I was completely ripped off by the associate and its supervisor by their disturbing tactics. I went in one week when my hood wo servicing my vehicle. I was completely ripped off by the associate and its supervisor by their disturbing tactics. I went in one week when my hood wouldn’t open and I needed an oil change. I was told by a jiffy lube manager to visit a dealership because it was more likely they would have the parts. When I arrived at my appointment in this dealership, they said they can replace the latch in order to open my hood and complete an oil change. I sat in the lobby for two hours. When she called me back, she said “we can open the hood and change the latch but we don’t have enough time” (what were you doing with those two hours then?) But nonetheless I return the following week, and get an estimate of ~$420. I figure since they’re putting in a new part (the latch), doing the oil change +labor, $420 is still high but isn’t terrible. I wait over 2 hours, once again, to be told the latch isn’t the issue. They tell me the cable is the issue, and that I can purchase the cable and have either them put it in, or another technician elsewhere. I think, “no problem” but since they got the hood open anyways, I tell them just go ahead with the oil change, since I was now overdue, and I’ll worry about the parts later/in another appointment since I was short on time. They say okay, they did, and to wait 20 more minutes. Nearly 40 minutes later I’m told I’m all set. I get to the front and my total is $420. I ask why, since they were only able to successfully do the oil change and not fix the hood. A breakdown: the oil change was $71 and the labor was $314.. for two. hours. An absolute scam. The woman then proceeds to tell me “they’re also able to open and close the hood now so you might not have any problems in the future but we can’t guarantee”. Great, so I spent 2 days, 5 hours of my life and over $400 for an OIL CHANGE. I panicked and paid, considering I am a young woman with limited knowledge of cars, I had never had an issue with mine, and I was alone. I had never been taken advantage of before with my car, so I called a trusted mechanic and family member with more knowledge of this work to only have my suspicions confirmed: I was entirely ripped off. The bait-and-switch of implying that for $420 my car would have a new part and no problems on the future, then charging me the same and only telling me you completed an oil change and cannot guarantee the problem will not persist, is the biggest and most disappointing scam I have ever experienced. I have always had positive experiences with my car, until I came here. Save your money and STAY FAR AWAY. FROM HERE. More
