Regarding my recent service experience at Envision Ford of Oxnard involving my 2019 Ford Explorer. On February 6th, I brought my vehicle in for a routine oil change and was informed of a coolant leak that of Oxnard involving my 2019 Ford Explorer. On February 6th, I brought my vehicle in for a routine oil change and was informed of a coolant leak that was covered under my extended Powertrain warranty. I was initially told the repair would be completed that same day. Instead, the vehicle remained at the dealership for nearly two weeks due to a valve cover part that the dealership believed was in stock but later discovered was unusable. While I understand that parts delays can occur, the primary issue was the lack of proactive communication. Nearly all updates required me to initiate contact. At no point did a service manager or parts manager reach out to explain the extended delay. During this time, I was placed in rental vehicles. Although transportation was provided, it created significant hardship. My 19-year-old son relies on my vehicle for work because his car is not reliable. As he is under 25, he was not authorized to drive the rental, which disrupted our family’s routine. Additionally, we were unable to transport our family pet in the rental vehicle. There was also confusion regarding rental charges. I was billed $43.77 by Enterprise. I was initially told the charge would be reviewed for possible reimbursement. Later, I was informed it would not be covered because it was considered elective insurance coverage. However, the Enterprise invoice reflects standard time, distance, tax, and fee charges rather than optional insurance coverage.
