Brought the car in on May 14 because of a strange noise under the hood. Turned out I needed a new compressor for the air conditioning. I spent $ 1.540 and three hours to get it diagnosed and replaced. I under the hood. Turned out I needed a new compressor for the air conditioning. I didn't try the air conditioning right away (my mistake!) but when I did, on May 18, I discovered that NO cold air was coming from the system. I called the service department at 4:45 pm and was told that Katy, my service representative, would call me back to schedule a repair. One hour and ten minutes later I called again because nobody had got back to me, only to be told that the service department was closed for the day. The receptionist couldn't schedule anything for the next day as everything is booked up until June 9th, but she would send a note to the service manager to see if they could get me in sooner. Apart from the fact that I'm going to have to spend a few hours driving back and forth to Stroudsburg and sit in the waiting room, I don't feel like I'm being taken seriously as a customer if promises are not kept! UPDATE: Ertle Subaru called me the next morning and arranged for the vehicle to be picked up at my house on Thursday morning. Turned out an air conditioning hose had to be replaced and the part was not in stock so they kept the car overnight. The car was returned to me on Friday morning. The gas was topped up and the car was washed and, of course, the air conditioning was working properly. So the initial experience was a negative one, but the resolution was definitely satisfactory! More
