According to our service department records, Mr. Allford visited our service department on 8/4/22 to address the drivers side headlamp not working when hitting bumps. We found that the headlamp assembly had water inside which would require replacing the headlamp assembly to prevent water from getting inside. He approved the replacement, headlamp was now working at all times. Mr. Allford did return on 12/6/22 stating that the drivers side headlamp was intermittently not working. We did then identify that the wiring connectors for the driver’s side headlamp were melted at that time, which is possible because when the headlamp had water in it before and we replaced it, it might have lead the wiring connectors to melt. He approved the wiring connector replacement, and headlamp is now working at all times. Also, during that visit Mr. Allford, requested us to replace the heater core and radiator. He stated that the heater core was leaking and the radiator was clogged. So we did as he requested and replaced those components. No further leaks found when technician was complete with repairs. He returned on 1/12/23 stating that he had an antifreeze leak. We identified that his water pump was leaking, which was not derived from our doing during the other repairs. Customer declined repairs. What happens sometimes after completing repairs that involve leaks is that when you replace those components that have been leaking and restore that system to the pressures it’s supposed to have, it can expose weaker seals or components that are worn. It is not uncommon for a truck like his, which currently is about 10 years old, having 199,000+ miles on it, to start failing and requiring replacements. We apologize that we were not able to communicate the processes behind our repairs better at the time of your appointments because we never want customers to feel taken advantage of, but we can assure you that was not the case here. - Expressway Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram

You can spin the situation however you would like. Yes, the headlight assembly had condensation in it, very very very common issue on these models from what I can gather, and one that most certainly doesn’t require replacement of the unit. It had had condensation in it for probably close to 5 years before any issues with the light actually functioning properly. When a customer brings a vehicle to an “expert” to diagnose a problem, typically a customer will take the experts diagnosis as correct. In this case your team saw water in the headlight and automatically said “you need a whole new headlight assembly to remedy the problem”… that was the wrong diagnosis, clearly as it had the exact same issues after replacement. After bringing it back a roughly $700 new headlight, your team discovered the actual problem all along that was the melted wire. Instead of just admitting you guys misdiagnosed it, you try and pin it back on me as it’s an old truck and things like this happen. As far as the antifreeze leak goes, I actually called two days after the radiator and heater core were replaced by your team and spoke with a service advisor about it and what I was seeing and they (as did I) agreed it could be something simple as a slightly overfilled coolant tank and it leaks as the engine gets warm and give it a little time and see if it goes away. It obviously did not. After a few weeks and the leak not getting any better, I called to make an appointment to bring it back, unfortunately you guys schedule appointments weeks out so timeline you presented here is somewhat disingenuous. I am going to get a second diagnosis and see if the water pump is indeed the issue. I still believe it could be something related to the heater core replacement though 🤷🏼‍♂️. Like I said in my original review, if nice amenities and comfortable settings is what you are looking for, I would absolutely recommend Expressway Dodge to anyone. However, if you actually want genuine people to help repair your vehicle and not try and milk every penny they possibly can out of you, then I suggest you look elsewhere.

Ohhhh, and just one more note for anyone reading the two parties accounts of what happened here, I also had to pay $80 yesterday for them to tell me they think my water pump is leaking… After roughly 3k ($700 of which was unnecessary with the headlight assembly) they got me for a final $80 just to add insult to injury. Just an example of the issue I have with them milking every penny possible out of customers even after mistakes on their part are made.

Sorry you feel that we weren't able to handle your service appointment as well as we have in the past. The appointment shows the only concern was for the transmission and that was verified with you at check in. The only time the alignment, sensor or antenna was brought up was during checkout and the offer to look at those items was declined. The Jeep had several diagnostic trouble codes leading us to recommend replacing your transmission.

That is not true. The transmission issue was taken care of and I told him that when I droped it off for service. I told him I was here for a front end alignment. Didn't get that done either. All they wanted to do is get me to buy a new transmission. The antenna was brought up when I dropped it off. Hoping it had came in. So I got charged for something that was already done. Like most people I don't have money to waste. When I looked at reciept I said the alignment wasn't done. They were going to do it last time but I told them I need to wait till next week when I was checking in. There is diffently a issue with comunication.

Brent - We understand your frustration and have apologized for everything that has happened with your Jeep here. We did fix what you asked to be fixed, but we could not have anticipated what happened to your vehicle during the test drive afterwards. We've had multiple conversations with you and your father regarding the entire ordeal and have been actively working to come to some kind of resolution because we understand why you've both had distrust with us and the situation. We are committed to continue working with the both of you to reach some kind of resolution, and again apologize for the unfortunate way things have turned out thus far. - Expressway Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram
