His commitment to excellence was obvious and he made the process easy and enjoyable. Gates is about three hours from my home but Nate, his associates, and the overall dealership made the trip worthwhile. The actual delivery was handled by Jimmy Satalino who answered my questions and sent us on our way as totally satisfied customers.Over thirty years ago while working for IBM I had occasion to work with Tom Peters, the co-author of "In Search of Excellence". The book is a compilation of interviews with executives of companies held in high esteem. One of the interviews was with the owner of the Louisville Cardinals, the first team in the history of professional baseball to draw over a million fans. When asked how that happened the owner replied, "Clean rest rooms." Gates rest rooms are immaculate and that same excellence is apparent and seems to permeate every facet of the dealership. Gates is the model for excellence in automotive/truck dealerships. I left the dealership knowing the Gate's search for excellence is a non-stop ongoing process. When Shopping for a Car, Stop HERE first Came to visit my sister so we could shop for a car for her. Our first stop was Gates GMC Nissan. We did see one car that was a bit over the budget b Came to visit my sister so we could shop for a car for her. Our first stop was Gates GMC Nissan. We did see one car that was a bit over the budget but was in the running because of its history and clean presentation. Test drove great but we needed to see what else was out there. After a 300+ mile road trip around Connecticut, the available used cars AND the salesmen did not compare to the vehicle and salesman experience we had at Gates. A little over an hour away from them, we called to say we were headed back. Our arrival was going to be past closing time and the response we got was, "no problem, I'll wait". I told our salesman that we just wanted to see it and drive it again and that it was not a sold vehicle. When we arrived, he absolutely was still there, the car had been washed, pulled up and another test drive was happening. We knew this was the one. However, because Nick, our Salesman, was going to be off the following day, we waited til he was on to come back to buy. The budget was super tight and just like any used car buyer, we wanted it to be as close to new in appearance. Nick worked hard with the detail crew for us and was able to approve an order on touch up paint for the stone chips on the car. The drivers side mirror had a small crack in the trim piece. So yes, it wasnt how we wanted it to be. Nick spoke with service and they quoted an astronomical price to buy a replacement mirror assembly. I looked on Amazon and found exactly what was needed for a tenth of the price. As soon as it comes the service department will install it without any issues. So, long story short, SO HAPPY, Nick is amazing and Gates GMC Nissan is a friendly place to buy your next car, new or used... Give them a test drive!! Ask for Nick. Doubt you will regret it. More

I never felt like I was being pushed into something. Martin explained everything and made it easy for me to understand all I needed to know about this vehicle. As most people know these cars aren't cheap so making this huge purchase should have made me feel a little nervous. Not at Gates! They were all great! Even Nick in the finance department made all the paperwork feel like a breeze! I highly recommend this dealership to anyone looking for a new or used vehicle they will get you the car you are looking for! I love my new Yukon xl!! More

Worked with us in manner we preferred - no phone calls. We already knew the dealership, bought a truck there a decade earlier and we are not far away. Earlier this year we came very close on another truck We already knew the dealership, bought a truck there a decade earlier and we are not far away. Earlier this year we came very close on another truck deal and for various small reasons the deal did not complete. But the salesman, Martin, had paid close attention to our interests and preference, and when we told him we'd next have time to look some more. This worked out well for Martin our salesman, the dealership, and us. Other dealerships were annoying us with lots of phone calls and ignored our very clear preference to be reached silently by email. Martin reached back out a few months later when I had time again, and instead of getting a newer truck we instead executed a deal to buy a Nissan Leaf (all electric) car that will let us keep our much liked but older NISSAN pickup truck longer. We were not a common customer, we didn't buy during the earlier work this spring, but I admire how Martin listened when he didn't make the sales months earlier and in our second effort we both made good quick progress to a mutually satisfactory deal. I've met hundreds of pushy salesmen I never want to work with again. Martin works at his craft, and I did not hesitate to try to work with him a second time and .. it worked for us both. The dealership itself is "over the top" clean and kind - its almost silly - but it sure beats grime and ick. Been to dealers where running away seemed like best response? I've bought twice here over 15 years at Gates GMC in Windham now and still like both deals and both vehicles. Martin was patient, learned who I was as a customer, treated me as I asked to be treated. We especially appreciate we could complete our work together with very few phone calls as we sleep off normal shifts and we worked well instead by email. Good attention to customers' perspectives.
