I visited the service department of Gene Messer Ford of Amarillo to take care of a recall on a used vehicle I had just purchased.. I also requested to have the oil changed and transmission fluid checked be Amarillo to take care of a recall on a used vehicle I had just purchased.. I also requested to have the oil changed and transmission fluid checked because I noticed a small leak and wasn’t sure if it was oil or transmission fluid. Danny was the service advisor and he did an excellent job. I was also impressed by the shuttle service and the wait time. Unfortunately I was not impressed by the technician who performed the inspection of my vehicle. I appreciate the video walkthrough but he said the vehicle was in great condition and didn’t need any fluids or anything, meanwhile the coolant reservoir was nearly empty and required 3 qts to fill it up. I was told the leak could be from the main seal or oil pan but they didn’t know. I was told the tires were all 11/32 but one is 9/32. The rear tires are supposed to be inflated to 60 psi and they were 54 and 55. The spare tire was 12 psi and is original from 2011 so that should probably be replaced due to age. The windshield wipers were ripping and should be replaced. There is an airbag light on and I wasn’t told about it or anything about what that issue could be. The brake fluid looks dirty but I don’t have anything to check the moisture to see if it needs to be replaced. I am not sure if the technician is being pressured to be quicker or if he is just being lazy and inattentive toward the inspection process. More
