I am giving one star since there is no other lower option to select. They don’t qualify for 1 star as well. Recently bought 2018 Toyota Highlander SUV vehicle from Germain Toyota in Columbus located @ 571 to select. They don’t qualify for 1 star as well. Recently bought 2018 Toyota Highlander SUV vehicle from Germain Toyota in Columbus located @ 5711 Scarborough Blvd, Columbus, OH 43232 I have worked with Sales Person - Kaleb and his manager – Greg in purchase of this Car. Highlander SUV sold to me has full Rust issues, Under seats ( all seats including driver, passenger, rear seats) is full of rusts. All Iron bars that helps in moving seat is full of rust. I have enclosed photos showing the rust issues This rust can be seen only when 1st rows seats are moved backward. I have noticed this issue only immediately after delivering the vehicle to me. On asking sales person ‘Kaleb’ and Manger ‘Greg’ about this issue, I was told that, they can’t do nothing about this issue. Also said that, It was used car, and they cant help with this rust issue. In addition to this – I got arrogant answer from Manager Greg and they are asking me to buy new car, when I specially pointing this issue. Now, I am in dead lock situation, I was sold with vehicle that has rust issues.. I am fully disappointed with purchase of vehicle from dealership. Any suggestions or help in this manner is very helpful. Guys – pls be care full when buying cars from dealership, I am afraid that I am sold with flood impacted car. More

First - I'd give a 5 based on my last service experience. But want to include my purchase experience from 9 mo ago...which deserves maybe a 2 star. Service - Matt was incredible. Appt scheduled for routine maintenance, engine light came on a couple of days before appt. Found rodent damage (never knew it was possible). Learned from Matt that it's not covered by service agreements, but insurance usually covers it. I had a vacation planned and had to have my car in time to go 1.5 weeks away. Matt coordinated with my insurance co, talking to a few people, and kept me informed to ensure I got my car back in time. Kudos to my ins co too! I've brought more than one vehicle to this service and always satisfied. Extra kudos to Matt because he went above and beyond for me. Purchase - Saw evidence vehicle not cleaned, requested a couple of times, and was promised a couple of times that it would be detailed and it never was. Finance (Demetrius) was not clear of how costs were determined. Was very difficult to figure out how everything was determined. Felt rushed to finish up because it was late in the evening. For extra service agreements told 'it will only add (a couple of dollars) on monthly payment', but ends up being thousands to bottom line total (buyer beware). Finance didn't seek the best financing for me, I had to ask about other plans. Finance assumed of the type of service agreement I would want, and I had to request they change it when going over info. Made several calls to get explanations about the bottom line costs and how everything added up. Still not happy with what it ended up being, but stuck with it. More

The good: This being my first car purchase, Joe Kelly was incredibly patient with me throughout the browsing process, giving me his honest opinion and was not pushy like most other salesmen/women. The certified used car I ended up getting from this dealership was high quality, just needed some deep cleaning on my part but, when they certified, they mean it. Have not had an issue with it since purchasing in September 2021. Bad: 1) I didn't want to sign paperwork without support, this being my first large purchase, just to remind you. Joe mentioned that he was supposed to be the one to finalize the purchase with me but that was impossible with my schedule. He either had to not leave for his vacation as planned, or switch the sale over to Aimee. I told him I would rather not buy the car than keep him from his vacation so, Aimee gave me my keys and etc. 2) went over to financing and spoke with Heather Romine who kept taking her mask off throughout our time and asked "how bad COVID actually was" after learning i worked at OSUWMC. 3) I told them my competitive rate I would be getting with my long-time bank of about 3.09 or so, she brought in Brian Delcid to convince me to switch to their local financing option because they would "definitely be able to get me 2.94% with how good my score is". Coming back the next day with my boyfriend, I asked heather if everything was as we discussed as far as my rate, she said yes , pointed out one typo that was crossed off and so i stupidly signed the paperwork, trusting her. I read through it then after signing my name and saw that the rate was 3.09 and not 2.94 and asked her about that and she said " 3.09 was so good, no one would beat that" so i was tricked into signing with a local bank I had no experience with for the same rate. 4) Aimee pointed me to Joe's desk to get my keys for my new car. I dropped off the rental since i traded in my GMC and asked them if i needed to go to the bmv for anything. She said since my plates were switched over onto the camry, i'd be good to go. 10/20/21 I get a letter saying to renew my registration on my GMC that I had traded in. 5) I e-mailed Germain on their website, getting a response right away from Anna that someone would call me. 2 days pass, I finally get a call from Linda who said " hi your inquiry came into our new car sales area and i wanted to make sure you weren't driving with an unregistered vehicle." I told her they let me know the dealership would take care of it which she responded with "dealerships don't normally do that". I have two co-workers who've bought cars through germain and they had temporary registrations that the dealership gave them. She said she was sorry about my experience and would let the correct people know. 6) After doing my own math on my paperwork, they added an extra $100 to my total car price which was not discussed. To say i'm "livid" is an understatement at this point. I was lied to about my registration and would've never found out until this registration update notification or getting pulled over/involved in an accident OVER A MONTH after purchasing the vehicle. The bait and switch with the rate was very unethical and I felt cheated. Also the unprofessional behavior of their so-called store managers is just amazing to me. I will not be purchasing another car from Germain and wouldn't recommend it to 1st time buyers. Everyone else, I hope you have a better experience than I did. More
