Kenn diagnosed the problem immediately when I told him I had the battery replaced about a month ago. I was in and out in about an hour and a half, with an oil, filter, lube, and a car wash. My family has been coming to Gosch before it was Gosch and been taken care of by Kenn for years. More

Recall work = no income = no courtesy = no repeat business +1 star = The recall work was completed and within +1 star = The work was completed within the estimated '3-4 hours.' -1 star = Surly appointment ex +1 star = The recall work was completed and within +1 star = The work was completed within the estimated '3-4 hours.' -1 star = Surly appointment experience. I asked for the 'first morning appt in Temecula on x date for 3 recalls on my make/model/year vehicle. I will wait for my car.' 'What's your VIN number?' That's not a number I have memorized. She did find that my vehicle had been serviced. Then I had to repeat what I needed. Then again. And restate that I would wait, not take a shuttle home. -1 star = I arrived early for the 0715 appt. Unsure which 'line' was appropriate to park my vehicle, I opened the service area door to ask. WE'RE NOT OPEN YET! I hadn't said a word yet it warranted being barked at David Sanchez. I turned around and went back to my car, having never said a word. A young woman came by about 20 min later, checked my name from the appt list, told me to leave my keys in the car and see David Sanchez. Oh, yeah, Mr Barks A Lot. -1 star = An excuse disguised as an apology. I walked into the service area again. A couple were speaking with another service person and blocking the passageway so I waited quietly. David Sanchez walked over and said he could help me. I excused myself and went to his cubby. I did not make eye contact. 'Sorry, I snapped at you. Most people yell at us for not being open before 7am.' I said nothing and did not make eye contact. His computer stated 1 recall. No, it's 3. Did you want a car wash? No, thank you. And I can arrange a shuttle to take you home? No, thank you. It's going to be 3-4 hours. I'll wait. Are you sure? I looked at him and replied, 'In my experience with dealers, if you go home, they call you at 4pm and say the work couldn't be completed that day and they keep the car overnight. I'll wait here.' and looked back down. As always there are signatures, and he acted irritated that I reading them before signing them. I stayed in the waiting room as I watched my car inch forward in the line. Approx an hour later, it was moved - I suppose - into a work bay. The tv and music were too loud to work and it was too hot outside so I moved to a small table in the showroom. Around 0930, David Sanchez approached me with 'Mrs...your vehicle is ready.' I read the paperwork, signed it and asked where my car was waiting. 'It's right outside. The keys are inside.' It was outside alright. Behind 4 other cars with no drivers. Do I sit and wait? Do I back-up in crowded area with people who are not looking? The young woman came over and offered to move it. I thanked her and she did. There is one open 'lane'. As I turned a food truck headed down. I stopped and it kept moving forward so I backed up. I can't move right, left, backwards or forwards. The young woman saw the issue and motioned for the food truck to back up so that I could leave. I waved a thanks to her and left the dealership. I get it. There's no income on recall work. It *is* an opportunity to make a customer feel welcomed and plant the seeds for longer relationship. Evidently, that doesn't apply to women or seniors. I'll continue getting my regular service at my local mechanic who knows me by name, is happy to see me and goes the extra mile to make sure they get repeat business. My mechanic also got thank-you donuts this morning because yesterday was awful. More
