Contacted the dealership on 6/28 for a used vehicle. Rick contacted me the following day, and we agreed on a price. I noticed there was some rust underneath the car. I worked with my local CU to lock down good finance terms. Noticed that the dealer was working with a local CU that could give me a better rate, so we ran a credit check, and sure enough, they beat the rate, and I agreed to it. This took almost 2 weeks to work everything out. I was sent the final order of the loan terms and noticed that the price was $500 higher than what we had agreed on. Then, I was told that it's because the undercoat was no longer free, and it would cost me $500 more, so I could either take the deal or walk. Meanwhile, they had raised the price of the vehicle online to get more from someone else. Look, I understand it's a business, and the goal is to make money, but you're also dealing with people on the other end. At what point did the sales manager decide that he/she was no longer going to honor this free undercoat? That's exactly when the deal came to an end. Just for everyone's information, this deal with the price, interest, tax, fees was over $43,xxx. A $43,xxx deal was passed on because they did not want to honor something that they had agreed on a week ago for $500. Again, this was my experience yours could be different, at the end of the day it's a business I get it, but there's a right and a wrong way to handle things. They could've told me if you don't make a decision by x/xx date the deal is off. I think they just wanted to get more for the car, and it is what it is. With that being said, Rick was excellent in communicating things with me, he tried until the last moment to get this done. Thanks! More
