The dealership staff was very friendly, personable and informative. I took my Jeep in for recall service and they were honest and professional about their ability to complete all three and why or why not! informative. 2015 ford expedition. Bought in late April of 2025. First month had to have pay out of pocket to replace spark plugs and coil packs. Not even a month after the water pump Bought in late April of 2025. First month had to have pay out of pocket to replace spark plugs and coil packs. Not even a month after the water pump failed, thankfully the dealership replaced for free. January 2026, the engine throws a rod and it’s quoted at 12k for replacement. The salesman in Newport News at the time were very professional and they were very polite. I got a great deal for my 2022 WRX as a trade-in. But when buying the expedition, it felt like a very expedited process, which is what I probably should’ve paid attention to for needing to replace my engine not even a year later. And overall, I get it things happen but I had my vehicle towed to the western branch to where I got told the next day hey you know you need a new engine but then when I asked OK cool what would you give me for a trade-in so I could look at a different vehicle, it took almost 4 to 5 days with no contact in regards to where I just had my vehicle towed home so now it’s still just sitting in my driveway dead and I’m trying to figure out what to do here. So that was the overall process of like the service department, but then when it comes to J, which I believe is the service guy that I worked with, he seemed like a decent gentleman at the time, but there was almost no update with the exception of calling the next day saying hey you need a brand new engine. The day I had the vehicle towed I was told I would have to pay a $75 towing fee which at first I was like OK cool yeah 75 isn’t the worst and then an employee informed him on the spot that because I bought my car at Southern and I had a maintenance at Southern that the tow was a part of the hospitality deal and maybe I’m using the wrong verbiage there, but he was like oh I’m not sure if that’s true so when he called me in the next day, he said hey I got good news and bad news. Good news is we’re covering the tow but the bad news is you need a $12,000 engine. The delivery of the information was fine, it’s the lack of contact afterwards. He did say he would get back in the contact with me. I missed one call from somebody which I called back immediately, I left two voicemails and had nothing in return and then when I went to go in to get my vehicle towed back home, I had to pay for the inspection fee, which was supposed to be roughly like $180 I was told I was gonna pay almost $260 because I had the tow and the inspection. When I told the service advisor at the time that tow it was already taken care of she had to go confirm it with a manager. When I picked up my vehicle, I wasn’t even dealing with Jay so just I felt like a lot of misinformation going in on the shop and I still wanted to trade the vehicle in at the time, but it was a frustrating situation and the lack of communication to myself and in between the employees was very off putting.
