Hello Mr. sloChuck, I am sorry that you feel that we did not provide you with adequate customer service when you let us know about the Carfax report associated with your 2003 Highlander. As you might remember, I offered to purchase your Highlander at a price that would be acceptable to you, but you declined saying that you would be giving the vehicle to a family member. I am also sorry that I did not have access to the sales records from your Highlander that would have allowed me to research your concerns, as those records were retained by the previous owners of Hamer Toyota. I am pleased to note however, that the Certified 2003 Highlander that you purchased from Hamer Motors, has provided you with 14 years of service and is still reliable enough for you to have it carry on for one of your family members. Apparently, we have a disagreement about something Mr. Gilman believes occurred, but didn't. No, I did not receive an offer from Hamer Toyota to purchase the Highlander at a price that would fairly compensate me for the negative CarFax report or the fact that there had been structural damage that I had not been informed of when I bought the Toyota Certified Used Vehicle from Hamer in 2003. That would have certainly been a good will gesture at the time if it had happened. The offer that Hamer Toyota made at the end of the email telling me why Hamer Toyota was not at all responsible was: "What I can offer you is a fair and accurate evaluation on your Highlander, should you still be interested in selling it. I have no idea what your local dealer offered you for it, but It may be worthwhile having us give you a quote on it as well." Since Hamer Toyota was claiming no responsibility for the Highlander, it would be hard to interpret that offer as going to give me what a clean CarFax with no report of structural damage would have produced. After I contacted Toyota Motor Company about their role in a “Toyota Certified Used Vehicle,” the Hamer Toyota customer relations person again pointed out they were not responsible for any claim prior to 2011 and declined recommending any good will gesture for compensation.

Hello Mr. sloChuck, Thank you for replying to my posted response. The reason that you never received a quote from us on your Highlander is because you declined to have us provide you with one. As you stated in your e-mail response to me, "Your offer to evaluate the value of the Highlander doesn’t do me much good at this point." Thank you again for being a loyal Toyota owner, we wish you all the best!
