Our founder Lee Hamer started this company on April 19, 1939 as an automobile general service and repair station on the corner of Sepulveda and San Fernando Mission Boulevards in Mission Hills. With your help and continued patronage Hamer Toyota has continued to grow into the state of the art Automotive Dealership we know today!
Mr. Hamer has won many awards for his charitable contributions to the community as well as for his impeccable reputation for honesty, integrity, and fairness. Lee was very active in the San Fernando Valley including the development of youth, sports and welfare projects that have greatly benefited our community. He was an active community leader in the Mission Hills Chamber of Commerce, served two terms as President of Los Angeles Fire Commission in the 60s and was a founding member of Holy Cross Medical Center Century Club. Lee was the recipient of the Fernando Award in 1989. The most prestigious award that can be earned, for philanthropic and charitable works.
Over the years he has been an automotive dealer for Hudson, Studebaker, Mercedes, Citroen, Volvo, MG, Triumph, Fiat, Renault, Borgward and Datsun. In July of 1965 we became an Exclusively Toyota Dealership. Mr. Hamer sold an average of about 10 cars a month back then. Today the Dealership average is closer to 500 cars a month and we are among the top 3% of Toyota Dealers in the nation.
Lee Hamer passed away November 15, 1995.

I went in for a rental because enterprise did not have any fuel efficient vehicles available. Tracy was kind enough to show me what she had available. She went over the rules & the fees. We then inspected the corolla she rented out to me for scratches and also handed me my contract. She was professional and I had an great experience with her. I rented a vehicle from this location via a referral. I was assured that Tracy Arenas was the best when it came to customer service and I honestly could not have been treated any better. She made sure the was assured that Tracy Arenas was the best when it came to customer service and I honestly could not have been treated any better. She made sure the vehicle I wanted was ready and clean before it was rented out. I recieved the necessary paperwork and she made me feel very comfortable that it was the right vehicle for my needs. I ended up extending my rental another day and she took care of me over the phone, where she again provided excellent service. Return of the vehicle was easy and billing was exactly as quoted for the rental period. I then referred a friend to Tracy for another rental and she told me that she was also very happy with the service. I have decided that if my next purchase is going to be a Prius, I will be purchasing through Tracy Arenas and Hamer Toyota. More
