Neal had an answer to every question I had, he was respectful and kind. I look very young and I was impressed by and grateful for his treatment of me as an adult. He did not push any vehicle on me that I didn't express interest and was courteous to every request I made for test driving. The dealership itself did not have a huge selection of used vehicles, but I still found exactly what I wanted. Almost all CPO vehicles and all in decent or great shape. Thank you Neal! More
I'm a fan of Japanese cars. I have had Honda, Toyota, and Subaru; and am excited to have my first Mazda. I am looking for a Mazda MX-5 Miata; and was directed to Hamilton Mazda by Plum Benefits/Buyer's Edge/Truecar. I further received an email from Neal Simon yesterday morning (Aug. 27, 2020), and invited me to visit the showroom. Hamilton Mazda's website states that the car that I want is in their inventory. Because I was in the Hamilton area yesterday, I decided to visit the showroom. It was 6:45 PM. Neal was attending to one customer; so I patiently waited. After ~15 minutes, he called me. When I told him I was interested in the brand new 2020 Miata, he said, "It's still in transit. Come back next week." When I requested for the price/calculations for the said vehicle, he reiterated, "Come back next week. I don't have the car." Understood. But because I'm a serious buyer who wants to close the deal by Aug. 31st, I requested for estimated calculations for a similarly priced car that's available, so I know what my monthly premium will be. He just said, "My manager is not here. I can't give you anything." All I heard from Neal were "no's" and pushbacks. "UNFRIENDLY" is an understatement to describe Neal Simon. He made me feel that I'm unwanted there, that he was doing me a favor because he was still entertaining me. "The showroom is supposed to be closed at 7 PM," he said. I told him that the website says Hamilton Mazda is open until 8:30 PM. In the middle of our conversation, he answered a phone call, "I'm still in the office, entertaining a customer."... When he hung up, he said, "It was my daughter." A couple of minutes after, he had a few more calls. It was obvious that he was pushing me out. I left before the "sour" conversation turned "bitter." Conclusions: * I will NEVER deal with Neal Simon again, and other "neal simons" out there. * If a sales person treats a customer like dirt, LEAVE RIGHT AWAY. * It doesn't matter how senior a sales person is - either by the position stated in one's business card or by the length of time in the industry. If one treats a customer less, he/she loses that customer, other potential customers, and perhaps his/her existing customers as well. P.S. I decided to make this review a day after the unfortunate incident with Neal, to ensure that this review is more objective P.P.S. I hope this serves as a reminder to Neal to treat his customers well. If he's in a hurry to leave the showroom, let the customers know right away. If the dealership closes soon, don't let the customers in. More
