If I could give them a zero I would. Do not buy from them! I searched a long time for a vehicle and I finally found one I really wanted but it was out of state. My dad picked it up for me. The salesman gave me out-the-door price, but when I got all of my documents it was $2,000 more because the financial person sold my dad more items. I was the one buying the vehicle, and I didn’t agree with that. I got my vehicle home and after 2 weeks of driving it, the transmission went out. I called the salesperson and he acted like they wouldn’t do anything about it. Then I emailed them and brought up Lemon Law. He said since it is registered in a different state, the New Jersey Lemon Law wouldn’t apply, but he agreed to fix the transmission. Meanwhile, I took it to a transmission shop who said they don’t work on 10-speed transmissions. I then took it to one of our local Ford dealerships who informed me that it needed a new transmission and that the sunroof was broken. They gave me a quote for the transmission and sunroof. I called this dealership back and they told me to ship the vehicle to them. I paid $700 for it to be shipped back to them on June 7, 2025. I called on June 12, 2025, to get an update on it and the salesman went off on me and told me, “I told you not to take it to someone else” and screamed the whole time. I was so upset. Why would any salesman treat a person like this? So after that I had my father call to check it. On July 9, 2025, I was informed that it was finally done. However, they only rebuilt the transmission and not the sunroof. The salesman told us it was a new transmission. I paid $642 for the vehicle to be shipped back and now have to have someone fix the sunroof. After all that, I finally received my plates on August 29, 2025 from this company. My advice is, don’t ever buy from them unless you can have a trusted mechanic go over every detail of the vehicle before signing paperwork! More

I have been a long time customer of Hawthorne Chevy. This will be the last time I deal with them. The change in ownership has not been a positive one. I had an overage in miles that I negotiated to be waived since I was returning to the original dealer, been a long time customer and was going to purchase a new lease through them. We agreed as part of the deal. I had to come back the next day because the dashboard wasn't working. The used car supervisor said something to me about making a deal with him about buying the car and reducing my overage. I told him it was negotiated to be taken care of. I am then told that was not arranged and I am being billed for it. In addition, I negotiated to have my running boards taken off my turned in truck and put on the new ones. The associate agreed and would take care of it with the service department. I bring the truck back in and get charged 220 for the installation. I again told them this was negotiated and to talk to the associate. She then tells me she never agreed to that. Please be aware of these tactics. I would not deal with them if I were you. It is a shame. I have always enjoyed dealing with them, but now there is no concern for the customer. They didn't even have the courtesy of reaching out to try and remedy a solution to all of this. He answered our questions, explained the vehicle we were interested in, and he gave us time to explore the vehicle so my husband and I could discuss our thoughts. We purchased the vehicle and Jeremy made it a breeze! We also met with Rich in finance. Rich was just as comfortable to work with. We never felt any pressure throughout the whole experience!
