During the month my jeep was at Hayes I received two calls, one from my service adviser on the day I dropped it off because she had a question and one weeks later from the service manager. The lack of communication is absolutely unacceptable. The fact that I did not have my vehicle for a month and still no update on a part that was to arrive on 6/25 I finally had to just pick it up and was told it may not be safe to drive. They did some unrelated work to my vehicle which I went and paid for and ended up paying a $46 credit card fee…..of course that was not mentioned, I would have paid cash had I known. Hayes used to be the only place I took my vehicles and always spoke highly of them, due to the lack of communication the odds of me returning are extremely low. More

Salesperson Diego was great, communicated well, cares about his customers. Unfortunately, a few of the other employees were not nearly as professional as Diego. One disappointing issue was the sales m about his customers. Unfortunately, a few of the other employees were not nearly as professional as Diego. One disappointing issue was the sales managers attempt to utilize a disability benefit I receive as a negotiation tool regarding sales tax credit. Another issue was the finance department sold me a policy for Anti-theft but did not have the dealership technicians to actually perform the required work on my vehicle. I inquired about this issue with a Hayes employee who stated they don’t do anything to the vehicles but only sell the policy. I contacted the insurance/warranty company (Zurich) to inquire about the policy and the work on the vehicle that is required for the policy to be effective. I then contacted the Hayes finance department. I was told that the Zurich process of marking the vehicle was not how Hayes does their vehicles but that they etch the glass on ALL their vehicles before they ever go on the sales lot. In turn, I again inspected my vehicle and found no indication that the glass was etched. The finance individual stated he would get with the technicians and return my call within a few hours. When the call didn’t come, I called back. The finance guy finally called me back stating that he would send me the product to mark my vehicle. He further stated that since I purchased the vehicle so fast (he is blaming me at this point), that the technicians didn’t have time to complete the work. This is just another lie from this guy. In fact, the vehicle was on the lot 6 days prior to me seeing it. I signed all the documents on a Wednesday, left the vehicle with them until Friday at Noon. So, they had 8+ days to complete their etching (as they etch all their vehicles-Lie). The finance guy was then running out of excuses/lies and became extremely defensive and stated well that is how we did it at my other job. So, this guy doesn’t even know how the product or services he is selling works. But, the customer is supposed to trust him with their Social Security Number, Drivers License Number, Address, etc. NO THANKS!! The conversation never improved so I will cut it short. It ended up with me wanting to cancel both of the Zurich policies that I purchased because I felt that if this is how the Zurich Representatives act, then I want nothing to do with them. The finance guy said you can cancel them if you want but you will never get the money back for this particular one. I assured him that I would because the requirement for the policy was not completed. After a bit more back and forth he finally said he would cancel the policy but would have to get approval from Dusty and/or Ted Hayes to get a refund. I said go ahead and get them to call me as I would like to hear from them on this matter. Shortly, I received a call from the Finance Director. She was very nice and apologetic and was really wanting to get a resolution to this situation. She listened intently and let me explain what had occurred. In the end, we agreed to a compromise. Another issue I had was the parts department. It needs serious attention as some of the employees are not very productive, late for work and lack proper supervision. Thanks to Jeff, I was able to get the parts I needed. The bottom line for me is. I will never recommend a Hayes Family Dealership to anyone unless they get back to ensuring the values that the Hayes Brothers built their businesses with are brought back to the forefront of each of the Hayes Family Dealerships. When your name is above the door, you are responsible for everything that happens on your property. Allowing your employees to be disrespectful, dishonest, and unethical is unacceptable. Based on this experience, I understand why so many people buy from Carmax and especially Carvana. They are willing to overpay rather than dealing with the deceptive practices of a classical dealership. More
