Air bag recall Got a recall to have the passenger side air bag replaced. Called to make an appointment. Person that answered the phone was very helpful and set up my appointment. I got a call the next day and was told that there had been a large amount of appointments made for this recall done over the internet and I would have to be rescheduled for a time a week later. Dropped my vehicle off and the service manager was very nice. I received a call later advising me that everything was done. When I picked up my vehicle I was also given an access number for a car wash - nice touch and appreciated. After the car wash, I didn't even make it out of the lot before an alarm started dinging. Thought maybe the car wash caused a false alarm so I shut the engine off, waited a couple seconds and restarted - no alarm. Just got out of the lot and the alarm went off again. That's when I noticed that the alarm was for the passenger seat belt. Apparently, my truck thought there was someone sitting in the passenger seat because when I buckled the seat belt, the alarm stopped. Back to the service department. Service manager took my vehicle right in and 20 minutes later told me that because they had to move the seat all the way back, the seat sensor thought someone was sitting on it. Moving the seat forward fixed the problem. A small problem, a simple fix but one that could have been found by taking the vehicle for a road test before it was considered done. Must admit, I'm a little nervous about what else might not have been done. More

Service reps are dispassionate and aloof in terms of customer contact. Heiser is the exception. Cudos to Joe Kuckuk. He is an outstanding example of how a service rep should treat customers. More
