I am usually cynical about bringing my car to a dealer for service because they have a reputation of being expensive etc. But Herb Chambers Toyota Brighton has always been good to me, I've been taking my for service because they have a reputation of being expensive etc. But Herb Chambers Toyota Brighton has always been good to me, I've been taking my cars there for 25 years. They are honest, do good work, and I feel they are not much more expensive than the run-of-the-mill gas station repair place. I also have no trouble getting appointments fairly quickly. More

TL;DR: If you're looking for genuine Toyota service in Boston-proper - I'd go elsewhere. Spend the extra 20 mins heading out to Norwood, Watertown or Dorchester. Initially, I had a decent experience br Boston-proper - I'd go elsewhere. Spend the extra 20 mins heading out to Norwood, Watertown or Dorchester. Initially, I had a decent experience bringing my new 2020 Tacoma to Herb Chambers for service. Nothing memorable, but I guess that's all you can hope for these days. But over the last several months, I've had two really disappointing experiences. First was receiving the truck back with a loose oil fill cap that eventually fell off unexpectedly on the highway. Luckily, I caught it quick and hopefully no contaminants fell into the engine block. Second was receiving the truck back from service with my dash camera unplugged. This one is real puzzling to me.. Not sure if this was because the greeter was having trouble driving a manual transmission and didn't want me to see. OR they didn't want me to hear the chatter in the service bay. Either way, without informing me beforehand, this seems pretty unethical. If they're doing this on a regular basis, at least plug it back in.. lol! Dan, who heads up the service department, seems like a decent guy in person, has handled both of these situations very poorly. Bad communication and has offered nothing of substance in return. It's been like pulling teeth to get my pre-paid service refunded. Howie, the general manager, has been helpful, though. My real problem here - you buy a Toyota based on a brands reputation for reliability, but nothing about the actual service nor customer service seems to be in line with the brand. More
