My wife and I were in the market for a high quality used late model Suburban. We shopped many dealers, in person and on-line. We visited the Owings Mills Chevy dealership location and were served by Jerome Nelson. It had been a number of years since purchasing a vehicle and I was prepared for the typical car salesman routine....you know checking with manager, price haggling, high pressure..all the typical things one expects from a commissioned salesman. My experience from the beginning with Jerome and his counterparts, including his sales manager, Chris, was just the opposite. They were all concerned that all my questions were answered, and were extremely sensitive to my budget and timeframe. They allowed me to do my research, and were open as to my expectations as I researched the market. They were dead on with every expectation and not once did I doubt their intentions to offer me the best vehicle for what I wanted, at a very, very fair price. The quality of the car, quality of the buying experience, the quality of the post sale follow-up has exceeded all of my expectations. That and the fact that Heritage is part of the Mile One Corporation led me to reach out to the dealership through their web site. Both Steve Oxendine and Joseph Shipp were prompt and informative in replying to my initial and follow-up queries about a trade-in and certified vehicles. I definitely appreciated their willingness to work out some of my questions via email vice telephone calls. Today, I drove 90 minutes to Heritage Chevrolet and left a happy customer. The reasons: (1) Joseph Shipp was very easy to work with, knowledgable and professional every step of the way (2) The Heritage sales managers were open to realistic negotiating and (3) most importantly, my wife is now happily driving around a Suburban that I didn't have to sell a kidney to get into. I purchased a vehicle in early October. I was told the dealership would call me in a few days to replace a part on my vehicle. It has been 2 months and I finally called today and was first told the part was not in then told it was and I could schedule installation. I was also told at the time of sale that I could have seat heaters installed on my vehicle at any time for $95 a seat. This was a huge deal to us since we were hesitant to purchase this vehicle without heated seats. Today I was told it would be $495 for both front seats... HUGE difference... And was told some things are out of his control and that was a special the company was running at the time. I feel like I was LIED to just so the sale was made. EspeciAlly considering I was trading in a vehicle with 5k miles due to a family expansion. Definitely get everything in writing with this dealership, because they will renig on their word. It's a shame buying a vehicle can't be a positive experience. Oh, and my sales person was assigned after we negotiated the deal with another person. Poor organization and poor service after the sale. I also was told I would get a full tank of fuel, and got 3/4 of a tank. And even though everything was pre negotiated over the Internet/phone, it took HOURS in the dealership. Also, even if you have outside financing, this dealership will find some reason to make you let them pull your credit. More

Very disrespectful, we were ready to buy had financing secured been looking for vehicles for a while , after talking thru email, finally made an appearance to the showroom....what a mistake. First I will say the salesman Joe Shippley was very friendly, and professional. You would think that would be the same for his management well rang was not so. Mr. Oxendine didn't want to apparise my vehicle cause I didn't have my exact payoff with me, never knew what I owed would make the vehicle appraise differently ..unless he was rfi make sure he didn't give me more then my payoff.....then after telling and showing him I already had financing secured he still insisted to run my credit, and when I refused to allow him he said " you must have bad credit, cause that would be the reason you will not let me run your credit ". At that point I knew this was a mistake and even though I loved the vehicle, and the price was competitive I just couldn't get that statement out if my head, and who knows what the service department is like after see the disrespectful sales managers.
