My salesperson, Devora, created a buying experience everyone should have when making such a major decision. Devora is friendly, knowledgeable and most importantly - NOT PUSHY! I couldn’t wait to purchase my vehicle and tell everyone about my phenomenal salesperson. Now, after the sale, is your dealer still taking care of you? Heritage Mazda does. I worked with Steve Knolle to discuss a concern, and, he too, was extremely professional, knowledgeable and LISTENed to my concerns. He did not brush me off or tell me what I wanted to hear - HE LISTENED and took action. Put my concerns to rest and assured me Heritage takes care of its customers. Wow -- a more cliche'd experience could not exist outside of a novel or bad TV sitcom. We had a 9 a.m. appointment with USED sales lady; received a text at 8:15 a.m. that the car was outside and ready for us of a novel or bad TV sitcom. We had a 9 a.m. appointment with USED sales lady; received a text at 8:15 a.m. that the car was outside and ready for us to test drive. Upon arrival, we were switched from our online/text contact to a male salesperson. At 10 a.m., they still hadn't "found" the car they said was ready. So we test drove a top of the line model and loved it, of course, The salesman swore on his ancestors' souls he'd sell us the car for the same price as the lost vehicle. This was a lie. When confronted, he brought in some random dude who went on about "we are all human and make mistakes but we have found the other car and it will be here in an hour or so." Bait & Switch? Fraud? We did not stay around to find out. They continued to call until I threatened to file a complaint with the Attorney General's office. Beware bait N switch tactics (used car sales). Absolutely horrendous experience and waste of time. We already had financing, so we were at another dealership and in the car of our choice by 2 p.m.! We actually got a better deal, too. More

I found a car online at Heritage Mazda Catonsville, had it inspected by an independent third party inspection service and decided to buy it, in cash without a trade-in. The Salesman asked for $1000 downpayment to hold the car while the wire transfer for the remainder of the price was being processed, which I paid. Within minutes of paying the downpayment to hold the car, GM Mike McGuire called to tell me that he had another interested buyer who was trading in a vehicle, would be financing a loan through the dealership and was more likely to bring the car to him later for maintenance, since I live further away. He informed me that because he could make more money on that transaction and future maintenance, he would not honor my downpayment and was going to sell the car to this other buyer, despite the fact that I had already paid the downpayment requested by his salesman to hold the car for me. Traditional brick-and-mortar dealerships may soon be obsolete as online retailers like Carvana and Vroom expand their inventory and gain market share, and manufacturers like Tesla, Volvo and Polestar move to selling cars directly to customers without dealership middlemen inflating prices, but we don’t have to endure unscrupulous dealerships while we wait for traditional dealerships to become obsolete. We deserve better than this, so vote with your wallets – choose to bring your business to those businesses who continue to focus on people above profits. More
