My wife and I worked with Ransey Stimson. He was thorough, enjoyable to work with, and is not the prototypical 'push car salesman' that people imagine. He answered all our questions, was respectful, thorough, enjoyable to work with, and is not the prototypical 'push car salesman' that people imagine. He answered all our questions, was respectful, knowledgeable, and kind. Would highly recommend Heritage Mazda, if only to work with Mr. Stimson. He was also very understanding when my wife and I wanted to have the windows down during the test drive, because of Covid, despite the fact that it was 30 degrees and raining. More
Gabe was amazing to work with. I went it with a pretty set budget and he was so transparent about all the options. He answered all my questions and addressed all my concerns. Even though I went to another set budget and he was so transparent about all the options. He answered all my questions and addressed all my concerns. Even though I went to another dealership, I had to come back because of the experience and trust established and walked away with a car better than I dreamed of. More
My buying experience at Heritage Mazda was among the best I have ever had buying a (used) vehicle, but this positive review was hard won by the dealership...they really had to earn it. My salesman, Rans I have ever had buying a (used) vehicle, but this positive review was hard won by the dealership...they really had to earn it. My salesman, Ransey S. was fantastic; he is obviously someone who enjoys his job and he does it well. I was interested in a used CX-9 because our 2013 CX-9, with over 100K miles, needed some work and our local dealer was offering incentives to "upgrade" to a used 2016 CX-9 that they were advertising, so I started looking around. I found some CX-9's at various dealers (one was in PA) including the one at Heritage. I inquired on most of the CX-9s I found online and the same day I inquired at Heritage, Ransey sent me a short video that he personally took of the car. That was a nice touch that no other salesman did. The CX-9 at my local dealer fell through and so I started a dialogue with Ransey about one he had for sale. It was a 2016 model, 42K miles, Touring trim level (w/ Bose sound system) so, after exchanging several e-mails with Ransey and Jody, their online sales manager, I made an appointment for that Saturday at 4 PM. I brought my 2013 CX-9 and was ready to trade it in. I had to wait for about 15 minutes for Ransey when I arrived, as he was with another customer. Strike one. He was very pleasant and apologetic for keeping me waiting and he got some info from me about my potential trade in. I met one of the managers (Dan) who went to look at my old CX-9 and took it for a spin. Meanwhile, Ransey brought the CX-9 out for me to look at. I looked over the car pretty thoroughly before driving it and it wasn't as clean as I had expected; while the exterior was generally clean it had obvious scratches, dings, and other stains in the interior (the headliner was pretty dirty) and while it had been cleaned up for sale, it could have been cleaned better. Also, there was a tire pressure light and a check engine light on the dash. Ransey had an explanation for those, but that was strike two. The test drive was a step in the right direction as I was very impressed with how the car drove and handled. Although it has less horsepower than our old CX-9, it was obviously quicker and handled much better...quieter, too. When we got back to the dealership, the "offer" for my trade had come in. My "local" Mazda dealer had already offered me more for my old CX-9, so I told Ransey that. I called my wife to tell her that I didn't think this was going to work because they weren't going to give us enough for the trade to seal the deal. I was pleasantly surprised when the paperwork for the sale finally came back and the number on the bottom line was about where I wanted to be (they matched the trade quote from my local dealer). I made the decision at that point to buy. Ransey then got the car to his "detail" folks to clean it up for me to take home. Paperwork ensued and I finally saw the business manager to finalize everything. This was a cash sale, so I probably a bit quicker than usual. I was the last customer in the dealership that night and it was clear that the business manager wanted to get through this as soon as possible. He even skipped over some of the "extras" that they usually offer. He had this really slick "desk size" touch screen on which I could sign with an electronic pen and that made the review and sign procedure pretty quick. I took care of the payment, he printed out my temporary registration and I walked out the front door of the dealership to take my "new" CX-9 home. One of the staff said "Congratulations, sir" as I walked out. I was feeling pretty good at that point. As I approached the vehicle under the bright parking lot lights (it was about 8:30 at night), much to my chagrin, I noticed what looked like a deep scratch above the rear passenger door at eye level. As I climbed up to look further, I noticed half a dozen deep gouges on the roof of the CX-9, some down the metal and already rusting. I couldn't believe it. Ransey did not know about them. He offered to have them touched up, but I'd have to bring the car back. Let me be clear: If I had known about the scratches I would not have purchased the vehicle unless they had agreed to take care of them. When I got home, I also noticed that the interior of the car was still not clean! I followed up with Omid, the general manager, and then arranged with Ransey to bring the car back. I had to do that twice (this is a 2hr round trip!!) Once for them to clean the interior again and once for Dent Wizard to clean up the scratches and seal them. I waited at the dealer both times for about 3 hours. Through all that Ransey was polite and courteous and demonstrated great customer service! So, some reviews mention the buying process taking a long time at heritage...it did, for sure. But with good after-sales follow through, to make sure I was happy, they earned my positive review!!
