Mr. Mirza, thank you for taking time to share your opinion. I have spoken with our staff regarding your situation and understand your position however I would like to share our observation. First your vehicle is 14 years old and has over 199000 miles on the odometer and as you have stated you have put your trust in us to do much of your maintenance in the past, and for that we thank you. I understand your frustration with the repairs we recently completed and the fact that it has not corrected some of your issues. In speaking with Mr. Underwood our director of service operations we agree that we should have mentioned the issue with your worn out tires, however we feel that like most consumers you would have recognized prior to your visit that your tires were significantly worn from a simple visual examination or the expectation of life expectancy of the tires you had previously put on the vehicle. It is my understanding in reviewing your paperwork that when you came to the dealership your request was to simply do an alignment and an oil change. Upon inspection our team determined that to properly do an alignment by HONDA guidelines we needed to repair the bushings that had worn out (due to age of the vehicle, mileage and the climate we live in). Ron contacted you by phone, and as you state you conferred with your wife and gave us a verbal go ahead to complete the repairs. I understand you feel that the repairs to your alignment and the repair to your worn out bushings did not bring your car up to the drivability you desired. Our technician and Mr. Underwood stated additional repairs are needed to fulfill your request those being replacement of your tires and possibly adjustment of the rear toe. These repairs you declined and have suggested we should absorb the entire cost to bring your car up to a level that you feel is desired. Clearly the tires are a reoccurring expense that you the owner are responsible for, as a courtesy Mr. Underwood and Mr. Korallus offered to install the tires and absorb the total cost of the labor with you only paying for the tires. Further if your car needs the toe adjusted we would absorb the labor and only charge you for any parts that might be required. It is also my understanding that Mr. Korallus suggested you get a second opinion if you feel uncomfortable with the remedies we have suggested. Neither Mr. Korallus nor Mr. Underwood suggested you should go somewhere else to repair your car as we believe we are the right shop to repair your car, our only suggestion was that if you felt uncomfortable with our diagnosis you could seek a second opinion. Your requests for us to pay to do your normal maintenance repairs (tires at no charge) seems to be unreasonable to me. Consideration must be given that you are at a point in your ownership that you must weigh every repair expense knowing that additional expenses to keep your vehicle operating will continue to regularly occur. I am sorry that we cannot comply with your request for the dealership to replace your tires so unfortunately we are not able to find a resolution you are comfortable with. We hope you will consider our offer’s and save yourself some money completing the suggested repairs. Also if you feel the continued expense of repairs on your car are an investment you do not wish to make I would suggest if you choose to purchase a new or certified HONDA within the next 30 days from HONDA of Lisle we will reimburse you for your recent repair bill as well as offering you a fair trade value for your vehicle.
