I love my Honda Civic Si When I arrived at Honda of Tenafly, I was lucky enough to be recommended to a young salesman named Steuben Vega. He loves his job and it shows. His en When I arrived at Honda of Tenafly, I was lucky enough to be recommended to a young salesman named Steuben Vega. He loves his job and it shows. His energy is contagious. I had seen a car that I liked online — a 2018 Honda Civic Si 6-speed that was Certified Pre-Owned. Steuben immediately looked it up, printed out the spec sheet, and had the car prepped for a test ride. Not everyone can drive a manual car and Steuben wanted to make sure I knew that it was stick. I told him I learned how to drive on a manual car and never drove anything else. I am well aware that I am an anomaly — most middle-aged women do not drive stick and for that matter, neither do most men my age. Everyone is always shocked that I only drive manual cars. I told him he had nothing to worry about but he still looked a little concerned when we got into the vehicle. He told me a lot of people think they can drive stick but usually stall on the way out of the parking lot. I know he was totally shocked when I took off seamlessly. We went for a nice long drive and I drove on local roads and then I took it on 9W. It handled the turns tightly, rode very smoothly for a sports car, plus it has such great engine boost when shifting gears. Steuben was totally impressed with my driving abilities and we had a lot of laughs as we drove around. He got back to the dealership telling everyone that I was the best driver of a manual car that he ever met. I still wasn’t sure if I should get something more “age-appropriate” like an automatic Accord but I had so much fun driving the very sporty Si. Steuben was willing to show me other cars but he knew that I had already decided I wanted the Si. It was love at first test drive. I felt so comfortable in it. So I said decided to purchase it. The whole experience of purchasing a car can be overwhelming. Steuben was so helpful throughout the process from start to finish. He told me about all of the purchase options as well as car insurance options. He introduced me to Angelo DeLeon, the Finance Manager, who was very helpful with the loan process. After the purchase process was over, Steuben spent a lot of extra time with me going over all of the new features of the car and setting up the radio and syncing my iPhone, etc. He told me to call him with any questions or stop by if I needed anything. He followed up with calls to make sure I was enjoying my Si. He has a great attitude and I would refer him to anyone interested in purchasing a car from Honda of Tenafly. My car is Pearl White, so “Pearl” and I are having a great time on the road together. More
