Read this and do what you like I bought a used 01 Honda Civic from Honda of Tenafly...on the ride home I realized the front shocks needed to be replaced because the car was bouncing I bought a used 01 Honda Civic from Honda of Tenafly...on the ride home I realized the front shocks needed to be replaced because the car was bouncing up and down like crazy...Once I got home and had a chance to take the car to a mechanic he clarified that it indeed needed new front shocks and that the dealer must have known before selling it...ok...fast forward 3 weeks...after getting married and driving up for our honeymoon to Cape Cod, out of nowhere to transmission slips and low and behold, I have to get my new used car towed to the nearest garage and then they do confirm that yes, I need an entire new transmission...at this point I called Honda of Tenafly to notify them of the two major mishaps that have just occurred to my newly purchased vehicle...Because the shocks needed replacement asap, they told me they would reimburse me for the cost of the new parts, which they did...However they did nothing to rectify the cost of the transmission, which they no obligation to, but what have been really nice seeing that it partially ruined my honeymoon, and set me back a huge amount. The 2016 Pilot was brand new, but he made sure to learn all he could and gave me a very detailed presentation of how to use everything. And he followed up after the sale. The business office was another story. Sitting outside the business office for 2 hours waiting to sign papers was unacceptable. Thankfully when I eventually got in there to sign - she was apologetic and nice, and all of the numbers were as I had agreed on. Their follow up with getting my registration was not timely. Although they got the registration within a week or so, they did not send it to me for another week and a half, at which point my temp. plate had expired. When I called, Herbie had it overnighted. Herbie's got a genuine, friendly manner and intuitive skills that keep it real from the get-go. Virtually nonexistent BS factor -- saves customer wear-and-tear and annoyance. Herbie took care of it all. He really shone, with lots of info on the vehicle, a fair, quick negotiation, and he came through big-time on his assurance of proper prep of the car (including some pre-delivery shop work that needed to be done). A tip of the hat to the dealership (and their myriad departments) for doing solid work throughout. Got in, got out, scored a car I'm pleased with, and I ain't bankrupt. What more can one ask for? More
