We are sorry that your vehicle purchase has become such a problem. The vehicle you purchased from us was bought under a wholesale agreement. The vehicle was not inspected or reconditioned in any way. We cannot be held accountable for the condition of a used vehicle, 4 weeks after the purchase date, especially under "As Is" terms. A typical customer who purchases a used vehicle from our retail department can expect a car they can count on. All of our *RETAIL* used cars undergo a 228 point inspection. We also offer a 7 day exchange program, no questions asked. If you're not happy, bring it back and we'll find something better to suit your needs. We think we go above and beyond other dealers to make sure there is a way to resolve a reasonable dispute over the condition of a used car. We are proud of the standards we set for quality used cars, and we stand behind them with these guarantees. Even if you had purchased your vehicle through the retail environment, and we had inspected and reconditioned and repaired any issues with this vehicle, the time frame in which you presented the problems still falls outside a reasonable window in which we can be held accountable. A wholesale purchase typically includes the buyer doing a thorough inspection of the car. Turn it on, take it around the block, check fluids, etc. Buying a car AS IS, wholesale buyers also expect to invest some funds into the vehicle to return it to retail condition. As we do not specialize in BMW repair at our facility, we didn't find it to be worth our time or money to look into this vehicle to make it "retail ready." It could turn out to be costly as more and more problems are uncovered, especially in this type of vehicle with high maintenance costs. You had previously communicated that the repair estimate was for $2150. The repair estimate you received is on par for a 6 year old BMW with 90k miles. I assure you that your friend and sales rep had no ill will in selling the vehicle wholesale to you as a friend. Afterall, the wholesale market doesn't leave any incentive such as retail markup and commission based income. We made our wholesale inventory available to you assuming you understood the risks and nature involved in the purchase of a car. pls be careful of this dealer. they just want to say things that is not true. how can a whole sale purchase financed and collecting taxes on it. this sales rep assured me that this car went for the 228 points of inspection and passed it. i bought this car without turning it on trusting my friend and the dealer. they never told me they did not do the inspection. who would buy a car without inspecting it. i bought the car 9.20 and i found the oil leak on 10.9 so it's not 4 weeks as the dealer says. and i have the paper work that shows all the dates. this shows how professional this dealer is. and when i took the car to them they said that parts to fix this car is $95 i said i'll gladly pay it and pay for labor too so the dealer can fix it but they did not want to do it clearly because they knew they were not saying the truth. paying the money to fix the car is not the main issue. the main issue is this dealer has no idea how to check cars. so i strongly advise against dealing with them. they are not recommended
