I want to start off by making sure Chuck Paciorek specifically gets called out for his outstanding service. The man deserves a raise, bonus or anything else you can do to keep him around. The only reason I bought a car, let alone a new car- was because of Chuck. Team members like Chuck are one in a million and if I could hire him within my organization, I would have tried to poach him. (He said nothing but great things about Toyota but I still would have tried) What an asset! I had been to four separate dealerships that day looking at buying a different vehicle for the winter and my upcoming trip to Colorado. Being a younger woman, car shopping alone can be a daunting experience. Oftentimes sales associates make snap judgements about my vehicle knowledge and buying power. Typically, if I do get spoken to it’s in the form of a ‘walk by’ check in- asking if ‘I’m doing okay’ as they pass me. I’m a pretty low maintenance customer, I don’t need someone to jump through a million hoops or schmooze/impress me. I do however have high standards around the respect I’m shown and someone’s ability to actually listen to what I’m looking for instead of assuming they know my story while trying to shuffle me along or shove whatever sales products they have down my throat. I spent roughly 20 minutes driving around your lot before walking past sales associates chatting outside to try and find some help to test drive a vehicle. I was exhausted and a little irritated at this point. When I walked in Chuck was diligently working with another client and I was happy to wait after he quickly checked in with me. Chuck immediately greeted me, listened to me, and got me in a test drive while he finished up and could give me his full attention. Chuck was knowledgeable and excited to show me some different vehicles and was fast to pivot into something else when I didn’t like something about a vehicle we looked at. I never once felt judged or that I was a waste of time. I was never hurried. I was never talked down to. Never patronized. I need to make this distinction because solo women ARE still treated like this especially in sales environments. Being transparent I’m under 30 and probably don’t ‘look’ like I could have paid cash for a brand new car if I wanted to. Generally I knew what I wanted and had the freedom to be picky with my purchase. Chuck and I found the perfect vehicle for me, the 2020 AWD Rav4 (in the color I wanted) and I knew I had to have it. I felt so comfortable with Chuck and had built such quick trust with him that before I knew it I was in the process to make it mine. Before we got into it he even asked me if I was paying cash or would prefer to finance. That was the first time anyone had EVER asked me that instead of assuming or jumping into ‘how much of a payment per month can you afford’. After paperwork was done, he gassed up my car and took the time to show me all the features and benefits of all of the settings and buttons- something he had touched on earlier but was able to deep dive for me. Its truly the little things that make the biggest impact sometimes. I was a sales manager for Fortune 100 big box retailer for a few years. Now working within the ‘service’ business category at a corporate office I have a special kind of respect for people like Chuck. I feel like I have a ‘car guy’ now. The most important question for a customer after a sales interaction is as simple as ‘would you recommend this service to your friends and family’. In this case specifically, I would send anyone I knew to Chuck because I know he would take care of them. I even asked for a stack of his business cards before I left.
