I took my car in for an oil change 1/2/2021. When the dealership handed the can back to me, I noticed a funny smell in my car. After driving it for a few days, my car started to emit some pining noises. This was getting worse to a point it started making tapping noises when I started the car up in the morning. I immediately took to the dealership. The service advisor told me it would be $500 to take a look at it and kept mentioning something about “Short Block”. I didn’t really understand why my car needed a short block as I checked my oil at least twice a week and never ran low on oil. I went ahead and got an oil change done and requested an oil sample taken from my engine. I sent the oil to the lab for an analysis and it came back it showed that the Physical/Chemical number is “Abnormal”. I asked the lab what that meant, they said that the oil had some contaminant. I have an email from Acura Corporate awaiting a response on how the dealership responded. More
