After 3 hours of waiting for a oil change they didn’t tell me my truck was ready. I walked outside to find it myself. Everyone in the service tech area was playing on there phones. Terrible customer service. I will never go back again. There is a recall on my truck for the brakes not working properly. Jim Butler said sorry you have too many miles on it. I just got the recall letter last month. I’ve almost been in 2 or 3 accidents because of the brakes not working properly. If this is the way Chevrolet is going to treat there loyal customers. I’m never going to buy another G M product again. More

I was I had brought my car in two weeks earlier for an oil change and mentioned that my car was making noises and I thought I needed new brake pads. I was told brakes were fine and to bring it in to have brakes cleaned to take care of noise. Two weeks later I bring it in and am told front rotor was loose and ate through right brake so both front brakes had to be replaced. I had drove on it for two weeks but no way to know if caused damage but two weeks earlier you signed off brakes were fine. Should have just gone elsewhere. More

Everyone on the phone was very polite when I scheduled the appointment and when I dropped off the vehicle. I was given an estimate on the 2 non-warranty services by Kim and given a courtesy vehicle. When I picked up the vehicle, however, I was surprised by the bill. On page 1 for example, there was a hazmat charge, which was never discussed at drop-off. In addition, when I combed through the details of each work, I had difficulty understanding 2 charges and learned that 1 warranty situation had not been resolved. The note from the technician said to discuss the issue with the owner, which was not done. After speaking with an office manager, I learned that the hazmat charge was essentially a tool/supply rental fee based on the cost of your service for non-warranty work. For example, a $1000 bill would have a higher hazmat fee than a $200 bill. The representative also said this was "standard," such as when you would go to Dobbs Tire and Auto, and was disguised as a different fee or tax. Once again, this fee was not disclosed at drop-off. Then, I tried to use my Chevrolet rewards point. The representative at the counter said I needed to print a voucher off at a courtesy computer. The only computer was broken, and then when I went to ask someone from the Parts counter if I could use their computer, I was told I didn't need to print a voucher. At this point, I went to my 3rd time in line to speak to a representative. I explained that the computer was broken and I couldn't print a vouch but apparently didn't need one. She disagreed. After being there for approximately 30/35 minutes by this point, I paid my bill and left. I followed up with another Chevrolet dealer, George Weber in Columbia, IL. They stated that they have a supply fee that caps off at $10, regardless of the job, for non-warranty work. Update: I spoke with Theresa from Jim Butler. I want to add to a few points. 1. Hazmat fee Theresa explained what this is and that it caps off at $25. She reported that the company will be disclosing this fee up front during your service consult. 2. GM rewards A printed voucher is needed per GM. Office personnel have been updated and this requirement for the paper format will be disclosed when customers drop off cars for service. 3. Lack of resolution on work This was Jim Butler’s mistake, which they took accountability for. Service representatives have been counseled. More

After two days I was told that they would not do anything about the rail dust (truck only has 14k miles). I had the same issue with my 2016 but I was told nothing could be done with that truck because it was out of warranty. I specifically bought an extended bumper to bumper warranty through GM for these type of issues. I was told that if I had brought the truck in sooner they could've done something. The issue just started appearing so I don't really know how I'm supposed to bring the vehicle in sooner. The issue could've been resolved with a guy or two that wash cars for them taking maybe an hour or two with claybar. It's just disappointing customer service. I could've driven to Jim Butler's other dealership (linn) and I know it would've been taken care of there but I shouldn't have to. I shouldn't have to drive 1.5hr to get the service expected from the same dealership group when I can drive 15 min away....... More
