Initial communication with Justin Edwards was fantastic, easy to work with and took time out of his day to help us out. He even did extra work to get the financing set up at a better rate. However after purchasing the vehicle we quickly began to have issues. Within 12 hours(75 miles) the Camaro SS we had bought had multiple engine codes and could not be driven(lean condition on both banks - P0171/P0174). I had driven 75 miles and the cars computer was showing engine codes had been cleared 111 miles prior. Multiple other issues were found including injector O rings that were leaking fuel, the vehicle had multiple vacuum leaks and bad gaskets on the intake manifold, coolant and engine oil fluids were low, along with tires that are clearly out of balance. Coming from a mechanical background it is easy to see that this car was rushed through their inspection process after trade it, and items were missed that should not have been. The injector o rings alone was a major safety hazard. To add to this frustration, they noted that I purchased the vehicle with the exact same mileage(114,651) as they had when taken in on trade(114,651). Typically this would not be an issue as it was determined to only be a 40 mile gap, but based on their mileage reporting, it makes it look like we cleared codes from the car 5 miles after leaving the dealership. My wife and I test drove the car a week prior to purchase and nearly all of these issues were not present. We attempted to get this resolved but Miguel Parra and Ron Strong essentially refused to return my calls regarding the situation. I left a voicemail for Miguel on 6/17/2021 and instead of calling me back, he had his off duty salesman(Justin) email me instead, saying to drive the vehicle in so they could diagnose. Mind you I live well over an hour from the dealer and the car could not be driven, as well as the risk of a breakdown/tow bill. I spoke with Ron Strong a few hours later(6/17/2021@ 8:06pm) and he assured me he would investigate the issues and be in touch. To this day(7/5/2021) I have yet to be contacted. Since then I have asked for a copy of the Car Fax to be provided as we were not given a copy upon purchase and I am looking for records to see if the water pump has ever been replaced due to excessive play in the pulley. Justin was kind enough to return my email and said he would need to get management approval and let me know. Seeing as I have not heard back on this request as well, I am assuming management has refused and this essentially is being swept under the rug. I paid top value for the 2010 Camaro SS and have had nothing but problems since we left the dealership. I expect this out of a buy here pay here, but not a major dealership. If you are buying new I am sure you don't have a thing to worry about. If it is used and not CPO, take the vehicle to a mechanic or take an engine code scanner to see if anything is being hidden. This will be our only vehicle purchased through John Hinderer Honda as the lack of professionalism and communication from management can't be overlooked. As a member of upper management myself, I expected better. More
