We've been using Honda service for 20 years or more and have found the service to be going downhill. It used to be that the service advisors listened when we were asking questions and now they seem to just have found the service to be going downhill. Back when Mark and Chip were there it was a great experience, now... At my last visit I asked when I should have service done again on my car since it has been a while and I drive so little for the past 6 years that I don't reach any specific mileage targets. I asked the first service advisor when I dropped my car off but when I picked it up I didn't have any answer. I asked the cashier (who is always friendly and helpful) and she directed me to another service advisor for a printout of the next level (which I probably won't reach for 5 years or more). He gave me the printout I requested but only answered my question based on the Manassas driving trends. He did not listen when I tried to explain that I drive so little that I don't fit that demographic. (I only fill my tank up once a month!) He just smiled and blew me off basically which was disappointing, but unfortunately, not surprising anymore. Maybe if I had been male he would have been more inclined to listen, or maybe all customers get the same treatment, which seems to be the way of the world these days. More
Had to come in for my regular oil change. I also had to hace one of the dashboard gears light bulb replaced, on the D gear for my lighted safety. My wife and I have been loyal new car and service customers of Koons Honda for over 7 years. Ultimate honest professionals. Felt very comfortable with having some costly services done (i.e. timing belt; two tires replaced; spark plugs...) It was easy to schedule the service, and they were ready for me when I got there. The waiting room was comfortable, and I got updates periodically on the findings on my car so I could make decisions on the for me when I got there. I brought my car in for a check engine light which turn out to be a tranission replacement. Tony gave me time to think about the news, call back and walk me through my options. There was no high pressure just a frank discussion of what was needed, possible rebates or discounts and time line to have the job completed. My father-in-laws car I borrowed then had the check engine light come on. Calling Tony for help, he call and help me get with Kevin Hall on the GM side to look at possible causes and lock in a service if needed. With his help and the parts department I got my father-in-laws car back on the road. Tony assured me through out this process he would not leave me stranded and made arrangements for a loner car if needed after his shift. I have taught costomer service in some of my other jobs. Tony throughout was what I try to teach other to do. I have been going to Koons for over 20 years and have had many excellent service represenatives. Tony is one more example of that outstanding service I have come to expected from this dealership. No one wants a new tranmission. But if it has to happen Koons is a good place to be. More
It was a pleasant visit. I even received my car inspection for free. It was not due until September but getting it early saved me a trip later. We were looking for a new vehicle to replace our 10-year old vehicle that was starting to fall apart. We wanted a car that was reliable and good quality, and a dealership that had a good service track reco old vehicle that was starting to fall apart. We wanted a car that was reliable and good quality, and a dealership that had a good service track record. Some of the makes of vehicles we were looking at were Honda, Toyota, and Hyunda. We started with Honda and left with a great car. (No need to visit Toyota or Hyunda.) The service was excellent, the loan process went very smoothly (the loan rate was awsome), and we drove away with a new car we knew we could trust to last us a very long time. This is the second vehicle we have purchased through a Honda dealership. (We would have purchased our first Honda at this dealership but they didn't have the color selection we wanted so we purchased our Honda vehicle at the Honda dealership located in Woodbridge.) Our Sales rep was willing to hold the vehicle we chose for 24 hours as closing time was fast approaching that day. We were glad he did as the vehicle would have been purchased by another. Thanks, Ernest! Although the selection of Honda vehicles was not there; this was not the fault of the dealership. With the happenings in Japan, all dealerships were down in their selections. We are glad they had a few vehicles to choose from. Thanks for making us feel number 1. We are happy with the choice we made and we will definately recommend you to our friends.
