I think there was a miscommunication with the whole matter. Peter came in for an inspection sticker and gave us his cell phone as he was stepping away from the dealer while it was completed. We recognized that his wiper was torn and called him as instructed, four times as noted on our phone's call log. Peter did not pick up. In an effort to help Peter and not make him fail state inspection and not incur additional unnecessary time, we replaced his wiper blades. It was our feeling that most of our customers would want us to take care of the problem and just get it done vs sending him out with a rejection sticker, him having to go purchase the wipers and then come back for an inspection sticker. Some customers would view it as us making the most of their time/visit and would have authorized such a small service. That being said, Peter's comment has made us aware that even though we thought we were doing the right thing, small services and their charges are relative to what the customers opinion is and not ours. Nothing was done in a manner to take advantage of a customer and their money but rather expedite what seemed to be a simple situation. Kelly Infiniti has decided to issue a check for $44.00 to Peter for the wipers that he commented he would not have bought here.
