I’ve recently started experiencing gear slippage and sluggish acceleration in my 2020 Ford Transit Connect. After researching the issue, I found countless reports from other owners describing transmissi sluggish acceleration in my 2020 Ford Transit Connect. After researching the issue, I found countless reports from other owners describing transmission failures occurring between 80,000 and 100,000 miles on this model. I reached out to my local Ford dealership to ask about financial assistance through Ford’s “Goodwill Assistance” program. My vehicle meets the program’s general eligibility criteria—it’s under 100,000 miles and less than seven years old. However, I was quoted $9,492.50 for the repair. Without any financial assistance, a repair of that cost is simply out of reach for many people with a median income. At just 94,000 miles and six years old, I never expected to be without a working vehicle due to a major transmission failure. It’s incredibly disappointing, especially after learning how many other owners have experienced similar problems. Because of this experience, I’ve made the decision that my next vehicle will not be a Ford. That decision isn’t one I make lightly. I grew up in a Ford family. I’ve owned and driven Ford vehicles my entire life because I trusted the brand and believed in the quality of its products. I had genuine brand loyalty. Unfortunately, this experience has completely changed my confidence in Ford. More
