It was over 80 years ago when, Karl Knauz the father of the current chairman, Bill Knauz, created the dealership that would bear his name for generations to come. Karl Knauz after years of being a chauffeur opened a gas station in Lake Forest. Did he imagine that this modest beginning would come to be one of the most recognized dealerships in the country. The franchises they have now, Mercedes-Benz, BMW, MINI, Land Rover, Hyundai, smart have put their trust in the Knauz family, (with Mercedes-Benz going all the way back to 1959). They have weathered the good times and the bad, and done so by taking care of customer's using 'The Golden Rule".

Staff is great at Land Rover. Always accomodating, and fits me in last minute! Even though I don't own a RR anymore, I bought a BMW from Knauz next door because my experience has always been fabulous at R fits me in last minute! As usual, Knauz did an awesome job servicing my car. Knauz always is price competitive, offers fantastic specials, and provides a Savings Card which entitles the customer to an even greater discount. Furthermore, when I was shopping for tires for my Mercedes, Knauz matched not only other dealers' prices, but online sites' prices as well. When I experienced car trouble in the middle of the afternoon, Joe Coleman and Joey Sojka got my car in immediately; and Joey Sojka greeted me and his technician took care of my car's immediate problem as well as curtailed a potential problem. Joey kept me abreast of the work needing to be done. My car was returned to me repaired and clean as always: the exterior, wheels, and tires were spotless; the interior was vacuumed and cleaned. I thank Knauz for another excellent service visit. More

Jim, our "salesman" (in name only), was one of the worst I have encountered. I have purchased 4 vehicles at Knauz over the years, with no problems, but this salesman, and the MB dealership in gen the worst I have encountered. I have purchased 4 vehicles at Knauz over the years, with no problems, but this salesman, and the MB dealership in general, have a dismissive, borderline arrogant attitude. They treated my wife poorly--ignoring her, not answering her questions, etc. We have lived in Lake Forest for 25 years, and expected better treatment, but none was received. Will never go back to Knauz--went to Autohaus on Edens. Totally different sales experience--bought our new car in a day--no hassle--from a polite salesman (Kevin) who knew the car well, and was actually interested in helping us decide which car to buy. Knauz needs a wake-up call. Too bad, really, we wanted to give our business to our local dealer, but they left us with no choice. More

Bought a new car from this dealer and found the sales staff to be much better than other MB dealers in the (Northern) Chicago area. The sales staff was pleasant and did not pressure me, even though I wa staff to be much better than other MB dealers in the (Northern) Chicago area. The sales staff was pleasant and did not pressure me, even though I was dressed in casual clothes and relatively young (late thirties). Other dealers took one look at me and hardly gave me the time of day. Knauz dealt with me fairly and I was happy with the deal. More
