We purchased a used car and during negotiations inquired about the remaining tire tread life. We were provided 2 pictures of a tire gauge on a tire indicating acceptable wear. We dealt in good faith and agr about the remaining tire tread life. We were provided 2 pictures of a tire gauge on a tire indicating acceptable wear. We dealt in good faith and agreed on a price that did NOT take new tire purchase into account. During the process we were assured more than once by the sales person and a manager that the car would have no problem passing MD inspection. In addition to a wheel bearing issue that was not evident during the test drive, (we will be looking at a $500-$600 repair down the road) the two rear tires did not pass in MD. The manager would not budge on replacement of just these two tires (as an AWD vehicle it will also need a 3rd tire replaced to prevent differential damage due to uneven tread) or even consider splitting the cost, nor cancellation of the sale, stating that they are not responsible for the car passing in MD. Even allowing for this, after reviewing VA inspection standards, I am not sure the tires should have passed in VA either. He offered a 7 day exchange, but there is not another vehicle we are interested in, even if we trusted them not to try and slip something past us again. He also offered to sell us new tires at a "discount" that is higher than what we were quoted by our local mechanic. We contacted VA OAG and they are aware of NOVA car dealers taking advantage of MD buyers and this dealer has had previous complaints. If you are from MD stay away from this dealer! More

I would give 0 Stars if I could. I can say that I didn't have an issue with the salesmen I worked with, although It would have been nice to receive a little better after-the-sale su I can say that I didn't have an issue with the salesmen I worked with, although It would have been nice to receive a little better after-the-sale support with issues I had. I also won't include my price negotiations in here. Other than that, I have NOTHING nice to say about Koons. I was there for hours to buy a car, it took forever for the finance people to get to me. And then, it was such a fast review of the financing documents that I got stuck with charges I did not agree to, and were not inline with my originally communicated expectations. The vehicle was sent to be detailed while I was there, but there department missed a BIG mess under the seat, and normally I'd let it go, but I did ask if it could be cleaned. They took care of it but they obviously were not thorough the first time. I had my vehicle shipped. Another $500 . When it arrived, NONE of the headlights worked. I was already planning on upgrading to LED's so thankfully, I already had what I needed, but come on! What happened to my car after I left the dealership that day ? I didn't press them on this though. As an out of state buyer, I had to get the car inspected in my home state of MD. My vehicle FAILED the Maryland state inspection for rear brake pad life and rotor thicknesses. I called the dealership back, they said they can only certify to VA state inspection requirements. Well, guess what? They're the same!!!! Both states require a minimum of 2/32" remaining pad thickness. So clearly the dealership shirked on clearing this vehicle with their highly touted multi-point inspection. I called. Multiple times in the days and weeks after this, and management has never called me back to make this right. So, in addition to having an extra $4K slipped into my auto loan by a greasy finance tool, they cost me over $500 for new pads and rotors at the point of inspection. I could have done it myself cheaper but then I would have had to pay the $100 inspection fee AGAIN. I will NEVER buy from Koons again, or allow anyone I know to go there. Period. STAY CLEAR!!! More

Cause no one there to at least acknowledge the customer or ask them what’s bring them in the dealer. We are standing there with no clue, until we approach to any desk to find out who is the person we need to talk. Staff walking around and don’t bother to ask customers. That’s make me feel step back from that place . More
Attentive service but long wait (2-1/2,hours) without explanation for routine oil filter change and oil. Only at end of wait I was told they ordered the wrong filter and had to retrieve correct one. explanation for routine oil filter change and oil.
