I was quoted almost $2000 to splice a wire together and wanted to refuse service but they completed it without my approval and still made me pay for the repairs to get my car back. Very unprofessional serv wanted to refuse service but they completed it without my approval and still made me pay for the repairs to get my car back. Very unprofessional service manager hung up on me and kept cutting me off as I was trying to speak. Will never come to this dealership again for they have the worst customer service I have ever experienced. More
I don't like knocking anybody, but I did not have a great experience here. I was traveling from out of town shopping for a vehicle for my wife. I contacted LaFontaine about a vehicle they advertised for sa experience here. I was traveling from out of town shopping for a vehicle for my wife. I contacted LaFontaine about a vehicle they advertised for sale. It was the correct, year, color and price I wanted. I was told the vehicle had just been sent to another store, but they had others they could show me. I provide my price range, color, make and model requirements. They said they could help and had a car transferred from Grand Ledge for me to look at. I spent an extra night in town (hotel) to see the car. Things went well upon arrival. The salesclerk and the manager greeted me. We chatted while waiting for the car to arrive. Mia showed me the paperwork on the car. It was $1000 more than my budget. I asked if that was going to be a problem. She said no and had the sale documents printed up. It was $1000 more than I said I could spend. I asked if she was planning to adjust the price. She said no. I got up to leave. She knew my budget and misled me to believe she had a car I could afford. I spent an extra night at the hotel and incurred meal expenses just so I could see this car. I was upset. The manger stepped in and offered to call their LaFontaine store in Grand Ledge to see if they could work with me on the price. I said I would not wait to see the car unless they could agree on the price. They did. So I waited. And waited. At one point, I walked to my car to wait. The manager tried to show me an alternate vehicle. Unfortunately, it was white; the one color my wife did NOT want. Finally, the car showed up. It was perfect. The manger made sure to find carpet for the trunk. He also agreed to address a retractable door that wasn't working on the front console storage unit. I agree to buy the car and we proceeded with paperwork. Everything was signed and again, I waited and waited. By that time, Mia had disappeared. I had no idea what was going on and had to ask other agents what the delay was. Apparently I was in line to visit with their accountant to finalize the deal. They were so backed up that I was allowed to leave for dinner and return. I met a very nice person in accounting who completed the sale. They also try to sell extended warranty during this time. They use fairly strong hard sell tactics, including dropping their original price for the insurance when you say no. They get you to say no about three times before they give up. Once that was done, I discovered that there was only one key for the car. I don't know if you've priced keys lately, but they're over $300 to get one programmed and cut for your vehicle. And finally, when I picked up the car, the gas tank was empty. It had less than 2 gallons in it. I had just purchased a used 2022 Ford Expedition (from somewhere else) the week prior. It was delivered with a FULL tank of gas. I'm sure that Mia and her manager were not happy with me, but I wasn't happy with them at the time either. I had just spent 3 days on the road looking at cars. I'm glad they had what I wanted. I'm glad we were able to agree upon the price and complete the sale, but it was not a pleasant experience. More
If my car were to break down in their parking lot, I would push it to another service center for any future work. I will not be back. would push it to another service center for any future work. I will not be back. More
