Service We purchased a used Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited with relatively low miles at another Jeep dealership in Lake Orion. While we expected a few things as We purchased a used Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited with relatively low miles at another Jeep dealership in Lake Orion. While we expected a few things as normal wear and tear we did not expect two expensive things (one very dangerous - the steering rack bolts were loose) the Lake Orion dealer failed to find in a basic safety inspection to either disclose or repair before they put the Jeep up for sale. A second issue was a recall from 2015 the Lake Orion dealer told us nothing about (although they assured us it was under no recalls when we asked them to check). When a message came up on the dashboard after driving it for about 1 month (to have the 4wdr serviced) we decided to take our Jeep driven at this point for less than 500 miles (since the purchase) to Shuman Motors in Walled Lake where my husband and I and other family members have discovered are just about the only (AND I MEAN THIS FROM EXPERIENCES OVER 30 YEARS) honest, skilled, and professional dealership in the entire area. Shuman executed the recall (gave us a free rental Jeep) and did a free 23 point safety inspection. When they did the inspection they found some other undisclosed things that involved the differentials and transfer case (also never disclosed or repaired by the Lake Orion dealer) so we paid Shuman to perform the repairs. Everything on our Jeep purchased from the Lake Orion dealer should have been either repaired or disclosed before it was sold therefore I will be referring all my friends and relatives to Shuman for any future purchases, or leases from this point on. Just like the State Farm insurance commercial, (my husband and I are in our 60's) and we've seen a thing or two - no other dealership will ever perform service for us again; it's not worth all the trouble, danger and wasted time. More

The service was excellent, and follow up great. I took my car to Shuman who I use regularly. Mike kept me updated throughout the process and could not have been nicer. It is so nice to work with Mike and Shuman as they tell you what your car needs and let you make the decisions. I have learned to shy away from some of the other shops that are constantly trying to sell you additional products and services that really are not necessary. I had one tire chain try to sell me shocks on another car that had been replaced just five months earlier. I should also comment on the technician who did the work on my van. His name is Chuck C. I don't know his full name. The car runs great and looking under he hood I can see that he put everything back in place and made sure that all the wires are not touching any hot surfaces or moving parts.
