Deceiving and not happy with service! First, I called and explained to this dealership my situation and the type of loan I needed due to financial issues. Also, that our car was totaled and we needed a vehicle urgently for our family. I also explained I wanted a used car and that if they couldn't help me with that I wouldn't go because I like over 50 miles away. Over the phone they said they could absolutely help me and to show up so I made an appointment and went the next day. I show up to the dealership and once again tell out salesman Willy Perez our situation and the type of loan we need. Willy said he was familiar with the loan and that it would actually be much better for us to purchase a new vehicle because of the great reimbursement they provide. So we went ahead with it and decided on a Cherokee. He came back with a deal and although high interest, we accepted it because of our situation. Willy was very pleasant and mentioned no one there is paid on commission and this is why they pride themselves on providing great customer service, not judging financial situations and helping people out. Then after about 4 hours of looking at cars and deciding on financing we see our finance manager Oscar Robles (everyone is a manager there btw). I reiterate about 15 times that I want to ensure that this is an actual approval because I don't want to have to come back or get my hopes up to later be declined. I told him I am honest up front and I expect them to do so to. He reassured me that yes this is an actual pre-approval and that I will not have to come back unless it is to provide paystubs or some new loan docs but that everything is a "sure thing" and I don't have to worry. He even talked us into buying their best protection package for the vehicle (we were exhausted after 5 hours and ready to go back home to out children who were home alone). So we happily leave with our vehicle very satisfied with the whole process and ready to drive our 50+ miles back home and move on with our lives. This was on a Saturday. The following Monday I receive a thank you email. Then on Thursday of that same week I receive a congratulations on your new purchase email and I'm thinking everything is great no call from Finance yet. Friday comes, I decide to go have lunch with my husband for valentines day in Phoenix. Minutes after lunch I receive a phone call asking me to come back to Avondale to sing a new set of loan docs because they "found me a better deal". I got to the dealership, waited about 1 hour and the General Finance Manager comes out to tell me that unfortunately I did not get approved for the Cherokee that I need to get a renegade and a down payment. I didn't even take my other car to leave the new cherokee there. I was SO upset. I even cried. I explained to the finance manager our situation and that we were very upfront from the very beginning, that we would've never taken that new vehicle, put miles on it and use it if we knew we would not get approved. I was so upset I told him that I did not want any other vehicle that I was done. I told him we were deceived and lied to by the sales and finance rep. He said he wasn't there and when they are approving they see a green arrow and it means approval and so they assume its approved. He never took ownership or apologized. I was so upset and once again had my children at home alone waiting for a while but they don't care obviously. They let me take the car home and promised a call back with a new offer. In the end we went ahead with the renegade but the whole experience to get to where we needed to get to was awful and very upsetting for our family. Don't know if I would ever recommend anyone to go here. I hope that in the future they can have more compassion and be more upfront with customers that are upfront with them about their situations. You call them, explain your situation and what kind of loan you actually will be approved for, they talk you into driving more than 50 miles from your your home, spend more than 5 hours waiting for them to get your documents ready, you sign your life away; and then 6 days later you learn that the loan you were approved for, you weren't really approved for. "You know that Cherokee you really did not want, but we talked you into buying because we told you that there were lots of incentives for you, you actually do not qualify for it." That's what they told me after I got to the dealership 6 days later. To get me to the dealership, they called me saying:"Can you come to the dealership to sign a better deal that we found for you?" After arguing with the fiance manager, who never took responsibility "I wasn't there." Long story short, this deal took us a week and a half and 15 new gray hairs. Not coming back. More
I was recently at another dealership (won’t say who) and the experience was TERRIBLE - ended up walking out. What a total difference there was in going to Larry Miller Chrysler Avondale! Excellent!
