I purchased a preowned 2020 Toyota tundra from Lexus of Brookfield WI. The person I dealt with was Bob Hill. He sent me great photos of the vehicle. Helped me with all the paperwork. Met with the shipper and got it loaded. The truck left Wisconsin on Friday afternoon and arrived here in Texas Saturday night around 9:30. So hats off to Lexus of Brookfield and Mr. Bob Hill Who helped make this buying experience the best I’ve ever had. The truck is beautiful I feel very fortunate to have gotten it. 1) The Purchase: I was introduced to the Lexus 350 RX at Lexus of Brookfield and was genuinely impressed. Our dedicated salesman was the epitome of patience, professionalism, and understanding; his ex RX at Lexus of Brookfield and was genuinely impressed. Our dedicated salesman was the epitome of patience, professionalism, and understanding; his exceptional service convinced me to make a purchase. The finance manager was a breath of fresh air. He shattered the typical finance manager stereotype, making the paperwork process seamless and stress-free. I commend the service department for their exceptional responsiveness when we had defective auto-sensing window wipers days after purchase. 2) Post-Purchase Experience: However, things took a turn post-purchase. After a few days of hot and humid rainy weather, I noticed a distinct cigarette smell in the car. Out of frustration, this prompted me to update my Google review. After seeing the negative review, our salesman called and requested to address the issue in person. I hesitated due to the inconvenience of traveling from out of state. I expressed explicitly that I was not interested if the solution would be using Ozium or other cover-ups. The dealership assured me they wouldn’t use mere cover-ups and even offered a loaner if needed while working on the solution. 3) Visit to the Dealership: Traveling over 100 miles one-way, I met with the manager, Alex Bolotin. He immediately insisted on me revising the Google review while they were working on the car. I demanded clarity on the solution provided first. Alex attributed the smell to wildfires in Canada, a dubious claim. When I offered to show him cigarette burns in the center console (which was not noticed until a few weeks after purchase), his stance shifted from the dealership "not selling cars which were smoked in" to "not selling cars which were heavily smoked in." It's worth noting that the car was displayed in a temperature and humidity-controlled showroom. 4) The Solution: To my dismay, I soon realized the car had been treated with chemical cover-ups: Ozium and other chemicals, and numerous hidden (*actually hidden) air fresheners were scattered throughout. Upon confronting Alex, his attitude was dismissive, suggesting I "see how this works first." I made it clear that I was unwilling to drive the 200-mile round trip if this was their intended solution. Yet I drove there only to discover that their solution was spraying air freshener and hiding chemical air freshener pads throughout the car. I am deeply disappointed with Lexus of Brookfield's handling of this situation, especially Alex Bolotin. The stark contrast between the initial positive experience and the subsequent negative one is jarring. For a dealership with such a reputation, this has been an unexpectedly miserable experience. I urge potential buyers to think twice before making a purchase here. I will surely drive a Lexus for life, but never again purchase from here. More
