If you're looking for a VW, go give them a shot. (Added note: As far as Northern VA dealerships go, this one is far out enough that the amount of traffic is much lower. With Rt 28 right next to it and some back roads on the other side, you've got a nice mix of places to do a real test drive and see what the car can do than if you had bought further in with all of the lights and congestion. From the first time I looked at a volkeswagon online to when I drove out the door I was treated like I was a friend of the family. Tom answered my email message promptly. He gave me many options. We first visited Lindsey VW back in 2008 when we bought our 2006 VW GTI. Clyde was our sales guy and he helped us though the process of trading in our old audi. We have never experienced such a relaxed atmosphere. You will not get the typical pressure sales here. Clyde walked us through the cars we were interested in. Then got us an appraisal for our trade. We negotiated a little and purchased a certified VW GTI. The car was great and we owned it for 3 years without any problems. When there was a small problem with our car Lidsay VW always takes care of it and even provides us a loaner. Recently we went in to trade in our beloved GTI for something more bigger and with 4 doors. We went straight to Clyde. Again his service was impeccable. Very polite, very informative, and overall a super nice guy to deal with. He walked us through some certified jetta's. We picked one we liked and again he gave us a great deal on the car. The trade in value we got for our GTI was above blue book value, Clyde said that Lindsey VW would honor the vehicle they sold us and give us full price for the trade. Also, they really valued our loyalty and it really shows. I think it is a testament to Lindsey VW's honesty, integrity, and overall great customer service. RESEARCH FINDINGS: Ford was eliminated based on price point, location of assembly(wanting to stay within USA)& "fit". Although I still own a Honda Accord (13.5 years old w/138K miles) the lack of follow thru by the sales rep in combination with YES we can get you the car you want but couldn't resulted in elimination. Toyota Camry was the final car but I wasn't thrilled with the design nor interior so I kept looking. WHY I CHOSE VW: Lisan immediately greeted me when I arrived at the dealership & engaged me in a conversation rather than immediately asking what type of car I was looking for. By doing so he gained insight into my lifestyle, learned the type of driver I am, other vehicles in the household & some of my personality which allowed him to determine the models that would best suit my needs. Two suggestions were made & test drives were conducted whereby Lisan showcased the performance of each vehicle which I would have been very hesitant to do but truely impressed me with the German engineering of VW . . . & made me much more comfortable to get behind the wheel to test the performance myself. I didn't feel pressure to buy one model over the other nor what was at the dealership rather Lisan checked inventory to find the car with the color & options I wanted knowing that other reps promised to do the same but didn't deliver. Within the same afternoon, the car was at the dealership & the order was finaled with my name on the paperwork & keys in hand! More
