OUR HISTORY
Walt DeBoer founded Lithia Motors in 1946 as a Chrysler-Plymouth-Dodge dealership in Ashland, Oregon. Following Walt’s death in 1968, Walt’s son Sid along with Dick Heimann, grew the business to include 5 stores and 19 franchises in Southern Oregon. In December 1996, this collection of dealerships was transformed into Lithia Motors, Inc., a publicly traded company (NYSE stock symbol-LAD). We envisioned a company that would continuously grow, provide great customer service, and opportunities for employees.
TODAY
Lithia is one of America’s largest automotive retailers featuring most domestic and import franchises. Our stores serve urban and rural populations throughout the Western and Midwest United States.
We are focused on providing customers with an honest and simpler buying and service experience. We are giving customers straightforward information so that they can make confident decisions.
We believe that our local communities are our lifeblood. In addition to the employment opportunities we provide in each of our neighborhoods, we also provide contributions to charitable organizations that serve our families, friends, and customers.

Excellent experience Had a great day with purchasing our 2017 Santa Fe today. From the start I worked with Joe Collazo and let me tell you..great experience with Joe. No p Had a great day with purchasing our 2017 Santa Fe today. From the start I worked with Joe Collazo and let me tell you..great experience with Joe. No pushy sales, he was there to listen to my needs and wants, and then went to work on my deal. With in 15 mins I had the numbers that would work for me. No back and forth haggling like years past. We have bought 3 Hyundai's thru Lithia of Reno and it gets better everytime. B. Ali helped us towards the end on other things related to the finishing up of the deal and can't say enough about B. Ali. He took the time to help my wife with several things with the new car to get her set and comfortable before leaving. Also, while Joe and Ali were busy with working our deal, JJ Collazo was always close by to answer any questions or to get us anything we needed to ease the time at the dealership. Quite a big difference from years and dealers past. If you are looking for a great experience and a great vehicle please do yourself a favor and go in and talk to the people of Lithia Hyundai of Reno.
