Kyle is the most patronizing, condescending, and rude employee I have ever encountered. I understand that it is his job to try to up-sell me on an extended warranty, but when I politely declined to pay a employee I have ever encountered. I understand that it is his job to try to up-sell me on an extended warranty, but when I politely declined to pay an additional 20% of the purchase price for that, he was unable to remain cordial. Kyle's demeanor completely changed, he refused to look me in the eye, did not answer my questions or explain what I was signing, and didn't even thank me for my purchase. After talking to him, I regretted giving him, and the dealership, my business. Until then, I had had a good experience test driving and choosing a used Subaru, but the required interaction with Kyle soured me on the entire experience. I will not make another purchase at Bloomington Subaru, and I advise others to avoid the dealership. More
Criminally Negligent and Shamelessly Dishonest I brought my Subaru in for a routine oil change and wheel rotation, basic maintenance I've done consistently for years without issue. When I got it bac brought my Subaru in for a routine oil change and wheel rotation, basic maintenance I've done consistently for years without issue. When I got it back, THREE wheel studs on the front passenger side were snapped clean off, along with one on the driver’s side. Let that sink in: I gave them a fully functional car, and they returned it with critical safety components broken. When I confronted the manager, his response was laughably irresponsible: “normal wear and tear.” Really? Four broken studs during a simple rotation is “normal”? Not only did they refuse to take accountability, but they also tried to pin the blame on me, despite my spotless maintenance record. Then came the insult to injury: they quoted me $600 for one side and $300 for the other to fix the damage THEY caused. I got quotes from other reputable shops averaging $200 total. So not only did they break my car, they tried to scam me into paying FOUR TIMES the fair market rate. This is not just bad service; this is predatory behavior. They break parts, deny responsibility, and corner customers into paying outrageous fees or risk driving a dangerously compromised vehicle. The fact that my wheel could still technically be held by two remaining studs shows they knew exactly what they were doing: just enough damage to make it unsafe, but not enough to make it undrivable. I was forced to choose between paying $800 for their mistake or risking my life and others’ on the road. That’s not just unethical, it’s criminal. If I had the resources, I’d sue them without hesitation. Avoid this dealership like your life depends on it, because it just might. More
Do not buy a used car here. I purchased a used 2018 forrester in the summer of 2024, first day I bring the car home the a/c is not functioning. This was surprising as they assured me the used Subarus were fixed up and pass their inspections prior to sale, clearly this is not true or the technicians are not well trained. So I bring it back and had to replace the condenser and compressor due to internal corrosion which was covered under warranty. This summer comes about and as soon as temperatures get higher my a/c is back to warm air. So I bring it in and there’s a leak in the evaporator, $1900 to replace. I bring up last summer needing to fix internal corrosion and if this slow leak had my a/c broken again by the start of this summer already could they have been related or if this issue was missed last year since clearly their technicians miss issues frequently in their inspections. No budging whatsoever and treated like it was a stupid question as obviously it’s not covered under warranty but my concerns are with them conveniently missing the leak in their inspection of my a/c while it was under warranty and now charging me $1900 for a repair. All in all I would not recommend buying a used car or getting service at this location, no trust in their processes and poor customer service. More

The service team informed me that my battery was failing their test and should be replaced right away. The battery was 6 months old and had been installed by a shop in SW Mpls. I took it back to that shop where it was tested again and found to be in perfect condition. I called Luther to complain and was told that their tests don't really work on non-Subaru batteries. In other words, they would have been more than happy to replace my perfect good battery for $320 simply because they don't know how to test non-Subaru batteries. This is essentially fraud and they should be called out for it. Do not trust them. Ever. I received an email from Lisa the service manager asking how my service was. I explained this situation to her. She never bothered to respond. More
They have a Express Service which I had used in the past which was good but not great due to the time. I went in for a Express oil change on the 25 and was told it could be 2 and a half hours.
