I have a Genesis so this dealership us my only option in MN. I had an encounter with a big pothole that flattened both tires on the driver’s side. So it had to get towed. The tow truck driver cinched the front end of my car causing the front bumper to fly off of the car taking several pieces of it with it. After that my front camera no linger worked and my bumper was put back on precariously with several clips missing. I immediately called Luther for an appt. I was given one for 9:00 AM 3 weeks later. The soonest I could get. I dropped it off and waited all day for a call. No call. Next day I was finally put through to my service manager who told me they hadn’t even looked at the car yet. I said “but I had an Appt for yesterday”. Was told “oh that appt is for your drop off time only. It doesn’t mean your car will be looked at”. Now it is Friday and I am told they need to order a new camera and it could take several days. They will call me when it is done. I say I can’t be without a car. They say they have no loaners for me. ( I am supposed ti get concierge service also but was told they don’t do that). So I had to drive back 30miles to pick up my car and remove it from the dealership. Waited for a call back on the part. No call. Finally got hold of a person on late Tuesday who said the part was there. Called to get it back in and had to now go back to the end of the line and wait another 3 weeks for a “drop off “ appt. This time I said I would wait at the dealership figuring that would expedite things. 5 hours later my service rep came to me and said she had left for a Dr’s appt and was appalled that nobody had spoken to me She showed me my car which now had the front end removed. Several thing were missing and now needed again to be ordered. She got me in a loaner and sent me on my way. Several days later she called to say that the dealership was done and that it would now need to go Collision for a new bumper. Collision is right behind the dealership. She said she couldn’t send it over there because it is a different division of Luther. The wait was 3 months. I said I can’t drive my car because it has no front end now. She basically brushed me off. So I called Luther Collision myself and explained the situation. They were sympathetic and said they would walk next door and talk it over with the service rep. THEY called me back and said they would take care of me right away. From there on the service was proactive, responsive and polite. I got my car finished in just a few days time. I should also add that at Luther Hyundai and Genesis you rarely can reach a real person by phone. You are given the option of leaving your number for a call back. I left it on 5 separate times and not once was called back. I asked about that and was told”oh Corporate makes us have that message but we never listen to those messages”. I love my Genesis but unless the dealership situation changes I will not be purchasing another one. My daughter is very interested in the Genesis SUV for her next vehicle but now has reconsidered her choice in light of my experience. I drove an Acura for the last 8 years and LOVED my customer experience there More
