We needed to find a car before the end of March for our daughter at college in Colorado. We were fearing the used car buying process and went into the Hopkins dealership with a little hesitation. Then we w daughter at college in Colorado. We were fearing the used car buying process and went into the Hopkins dealership with a little hesitation. Then we were introduced to Temi and the negative buying process went out the window. He was attentive, great listener, fun to collaborate with, and in the end it was a one and done. First stop, last stop. We had a Honda CRV two days later. We recommend Temi for everyone looking for a vehicle. We enjoyed the used car purchase while working with Temi and the team at Hopkins Honda. I don't normally review, but my experience was so exceptionally bad, I need to. TLDR - The worst sales tactics DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU'VE NEVER BOUGHT A CAR BEFORE. And for the love of god, never wor exceptionally bad, I need to. TLDR - The worst sales tactics DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU'VE NEVER BOUGHT A CAR BEFORE. And for the love of god, never work with Tony in finance. Matt was much better, though only after they got me to sign for the car and had me on the hook for $16k. I will never come back here and tell everyone I know to never come here. If I could have backed out of the deal after talking to Tony, I absolutely would have. Tucker was kind but didn't seem entirely sure of the process from the finance end. I'm not trying to get anyone in trouble, just being honest about my experience. I'll start from the beginning. Firstly, when coming in to purchase my vehicle, they had added on additional items that I had no interest in, which increased the price of the vehicle nearly a thousand dollars. I asked them to take both off and they didn't at first. It took 1 hour of debate to get them to fully remove/discount the items that they didn't advertise online were on the vehicle. If I had known that this salesperson crap was a sign of what's to come, I would have left right there. Those tactics are kinda expected, though not fun to deal with. I left at this point feeling happy with the sale. Then comes the really awful experience, when I went to buy the car. I have never bought a car before or taken out a loan to buy a car. The man I was shown to do finance with, after being forced to wait for nearly two hours, was the worst customer experience I've ever had (Tony in finance). He explained practically nothing about what he was shoving in front of me to sign, mocked me for doing simple math in my head and giving an exact amount down after what I was going to finance, threw pens around his office when I hesitated to sign something, laughed at my situation when I explained to Tucker that I needed to go talk to my bank to get the Cashier's check from my loan. The funny/sad part about this, is that I've never gone through this process before. The bank that I'm financing through said that I needed a purchase agreement first and then they could either wire the money to the dealership, or give me a cashier's check. When I came in to the dealership, I was unaware that they were going to be FURIOUS if I didn't have the cashier's check on me before the purchase agreement. This put me in a catch-22 situation where both institutions wanted something from the other and were going through me to get it. I felt so overwhelmed and caught off guard at the hostility displayed by Tony, that I just signed for things. Additionally, without explaining what I was signing, Tony didn't give me any copies of documents with my signatures on them. This meant that when I got home to try to figure out what I was legally responsible for, I had truly no idea. Nothing had my signature on it, and since it wasn't explained considerately, I didn't know if I could back out of the deal. At that point, I desperately wanted to. That was how bad my experience with that man was. Of course, I needed to plan in case I had actually signed the purchase agreement (I wasn't sure since it wasn't explained and the document he gave me didn't have my signature on it). So I went about getting the rest of the $16,500. Turns out, I had signed the purchase agreement, and so when I went in to give them the check, I asked to talk to Matt in finance instead of Tony. And Matt was genuinely helpful, he went through everything and explained it clearly and completely. He answered every question I had and gave me a copy of all the documents I had signed. The really awful thing is that I was already legally on the hook for $16.5 thousand dollars at this point. So they only were kind and helpful after that. I'm never coming back to this place, and they have lost a loyal customer who has only ever driven Honda's and learned to drive on Honda's. An absolutely terrible first buying experience. More
