I give the service manager, Mr. Edwin Holmstrom 0 stars! I purchased a new F-150 pickup on 02/10/2021. As part of the deal they swapped the rims and tires from my old truck to the new one and installed a 2" I purchased a new F-150 pickup on 02/10/2021. As part of the deal they swapped the rims and tires from my old truck to the new one and installed a 2" leveling kit. Then the big snow storm hit so I didn't have much of an opportunity to drive the new truck. Finally I started driving and I began to hear a rubbing and flapping noise. The more I drove the truck the worse it got. Then it got to the point where I didn't think it was safe to drive so I took it back to Mac Haik Ford (Georgetown, TX) service department on Wednesday March 3rd. I spoke to a young lady at the desk, explained what was happening, and asked if someone could please take a quick look at it or take it for a test drive to determine anything. She went to see if she could locate someone to help me. She came back a few minutes later with the service manager, Edwin Holmstrom. That's when everything went downhill fast. Without even looking at the truck he proceeded to tell me that the bad ride and noises I heard was from flat spots in the tires! I asked him how he determined this when he hadn't even looked at the vehicle yet. I explained to him that it couldn't be flat spots because they had swapped the tires and rims from my other truck and installed a leveling kit at purchase. I explained to him what was happening and that I didn't think it was safe to drive. I asked if he would please take a minute to look at the truck to see if he could see anything or take it for a test drive to better understand what I was worried about. Mr. Holmstrom then proceeded to tell me that the "test drive guy" was not available and that he was not going to test drive it himself. I guess there's a guy working there that only does test drives! Is there a special certification needed to qualify you as a "test driver"? At this point I'm literally begging the guy to please just take a look at it. He again said no. I asked if I could leave it so they could look at it the next day. He said sure. I then asked for a loaner truck (I work out of my truck). He said sorry they didn't have anything available and didn't know when one would be available. At this point I felt like I had no option because I need a vehicle to work. I walked out and crawled under my new truck trying to find anything obvious, then drove home. The next morning while driving to work I heard a loud bang and then my transmission stopped working. I called a tow truck. When the driver arrived and started hooking up the truck he called me over to look at something. He showed me where the driver side rear wheel had smashed into the rotor and brake assembly, also damaging my rim. Then we saw that there were no studs left and the rim/tire had fallen completely off! If I had been driving at any increased speed instead of making a turn when this happened I might not be around to write this review! So now we get back to the dealership service department and I explain to them what just happened and the first thing out of Mr. Holmstrom's mouth was to tell me that I had crawled under my truck the night before. I took this to mean that he was implying that either I did something to my own truck or that it was my fault for not finding the problem! Then a different manager met me at my truck. He got some information from me about what happened. While I was telling him he stated that Mr. Holmstrom had suggested "checking the cameras". I understood this to mean that he should see if I did something to sabotage my own truck! I begged him to please check all the cameras, even the ones in the service office. There's only two possibilities for what happened. Either they didn't tighten the lug nuts properly or they over tightened them. So while these guys are figuring out what to do I'm still standing there waiting for someone to tell me what they're going to do. Finally my salesman comes over and offers to get me a loaner vehicle so I can get back to work. Now they have loaners! The problem with the loaner was that it was an ecosport hatchback. Try fitting a ladder and tools into one of them! So they finally tell me that they're going to need to keep the truck for "a while". I said since you have the truck you might as well do the recall work on the rear camera, and do the window tint and leather seats that hadn't been done yet. I told my wife all that had happened. She called the dealership and asked to speak to the manager. The receptionist told her that he wasn't available and he would return her call shortly. After waiting awhile with no return call she called again. He still was unavailable. She asked the receptionist for the regional manager's name and phone number. The receptionist first told her that she didn't have that phone number then said she wasn't allowed to give the number to her. So my wife did some "leg work" and found the number. She called this person and spoke to him. She explained everything to him. He seemed shocked and sounded upset and assured my wife that he would get to the bottom of this and take care of everything. Well, a week later and I still had not heard a peep from anyone from Mac Haik Ford in Georgetown! After telling my wife this she proceeded to contact the regional manager again and update him on the situation. Approximately 15 minutes later I received a phone call from the accessories department and the service department to update me on the vehicle. I finally got my truck back on March 11th. Everything was repaired and / or replaced but should have never happened. And I still have never heard anything from the service manager, Edwin Holmstrom. I thought the leader (service manager) was suppose to set the standard or example for the people they're in charge of. If Mr. Holmstrom is the example then this dealership is doomed! All it would have taken was a little effort from Mr. Holmstrom instead of the B.S. and excuses he provided. More
They treat me right every time I take my truck in for service. I highly recommend them. I have a fleet of trucks and repairs are always needed so it nice to have the piece of mind that your vehicle will service. I highly recommend them. I'm not dissatisfied with this dealer. I live 80 miles from dealer and had to go back twice to complete deal. We eventually got the deal done.
