Many were tried, only one was chosen. I looked at Explorer at Bell, Fullerton, Liccardi, and Malouf. I was looking for a base model because I am now retired. My only requirement was four w I looked at Explorer at Bell, Fullerton, Liccardi, and Malouf. I was looking for a base model because I am now retired. My only requirement was four wheel drive or AWD and seating for seven. My wife didn't want the colors Black or White. It came down to Bell and Malouf. Bell offered a base model in red, Malouf offered a base model in blue but also a brown Explorer ( demo ) with all the bells and whistles. Which I didn't give a hoot about but my wife did. I liked the fact that I could get the loaded demo for close to the base model. My only problem is that the 2016 Explorer that was supposed to be mine is now my wife's. I have her 2013 Ford Escape.
