I spoke to service about this case, and was informed that the quote you were given was for a 'worse-case scenario' if the door panel were to also break during repair, and need replacing, which we thought likely- given the nature of the damage to your door. Worst case was never mentioned to me. I was told the door panel would be destroyed during the repair. The absurd cost I was told exceeded the value of the vehicle. I didn’t believe what I was told (a cost of $2,600 to repair a door that wouldn’t open) so called another dealer for 2nd opinion. They said they could get into the door without destroying the panel. They repaired my door yesterday for the $1,400 that they had quoted including a new lock/actuator assembly. Not sure what to say. Maus really let me down.
