I live in San Diego and searched for six weeks to find the truck I wanted locally: F 150XLT 5.0 Super Crew in Magma Red, no luck. I expanded the search to all of So Cal, no luck. Phoenix, no luck. Finally I searched within 100 miles of Austin TX, as I recently lived there. There were eight trucks that matched what I wanted. One was at a great price, had everything I wanted, and almost no options that I didn't. I sent out an online request Thursday night and on Friday morning I received a reply from Business Development Communications Manager Wilmer Watson-Rodriguez. He said to fil out online forms to purchase the truck and then I could come out on Monday and pick up my new truck. I filled out the forms and received this email response: Your 2020 Ford F-150 is approved. Great news, Julian ! After reviewing your application, we found a qualifying offer from Auto Fi. I called and spoke with Wilmer, he offed his congratulations on my new truck and we set up a time to pick up my new truck on Monday morning He sent an email: A p p o i n t m e n t R e m i n d e r Ask For: Wilmer Watson Date: 12/7/2020 Time: 10:30 AM If anything changes and you can't make it, please let me know. If something changes on my end, I will do the same. I look forward to meeting and working with you! I drove 20 hours to Austin, and on Monday morning my sister drove me to San Antonio to pick up my new truck. Around 930AM I called and spoke to Wilmer regarding a new financing offer that Ford had, he said I was approved for it and my payment would be thirty dollars less a month. Around 10 am Wilmer called me and asked if I was set on a Magma Red F150, I said "Yes, that's why I drove twenty hours to get this specific truck" Then he dropped the bomb: "sorry, but we sold the truck to Rousch Racing" We arrived around 1030 and Wilmer apologized and said "we will get you another truck in the color you want today" Needless to say I was pissed off, I had set up everything online in advance, credit was ran and approved. Then re ran and approved. We waited till 1pm, no news or truck. We left and Wilmer PROMISED to get me a truck that same day, there was one in Dallas and he would get it delivered to me in Austin. Never happened. That was the last time Willmer spoke to me or had any contact with me. He has since ignored my calls and emails and left me hanging in the wind. He is a flat out liar. Dishonest. A disgrace to salesmen. Management please contact me, I am not lying or exaggerating. Here is the VIN 1FTEW1C52 LKD68125. The price I agreed on with McCombs Ford was 38,900. But Willmer took money from Rousch Racing and now that truck is now on sale at McCombs for almost 72,000.00! 2020 Ford F-150 XLT Supercharged Outlaw Custom FORD WEST PRICE: $71,438 To sum up. I bought a truck online, was approved with FMC and Auto Fi, drove 1500 miles to pick up the truck. Then was told the truck was sold behind my back. To a company that they are an exclusive dealer for. And make they make another 20K off of. Then I was lied to about the dealer (Willmer) finding a replacement truck to be delivered that same day. And no one from McCombs Ford had contacted me to apologize since. Absolute worst buying experience ever. DO NOT buy a car from Willmer Watson. He will F you over and not blink about it. More
